Setting The Scene

Victoria grips Zack's wrist and pulls him over toward the green door to exit the storage room under the cabin. Her hand reaches out to grab the door knob and with a quick twist on it, the door unlatches and she pulls it open, allowing the barely there light from outside the room to pour in. At the same time, the rain is lightly pouring down and the trees are still shaking violently in the distance. The entire atmosphere only made everything seem so much more eerie. Thunderstorms already have that way to make everything feel a little more scary or dangerous but now, with a dead body behind them and a killer on the loose, with the violent winds gusting outside it really made the spines of the two teens tingle.

"Vicky?" Zack pulls the girl back as the two of them stare out the now open door, looking towards the path which leads down to the lake, "We just fucked, remember?"

"W-What?" she turns her head and looks at the boy.

"We just had sex, remember? All our friends saw us come down here to do the deed, well, not down here per say, but they saw us leave. So umm, what did we do? Where did we go?"

"Huh..." Victoria steps back as her hand goes to her chin, giving it a soft rub, "We can't say we came in here so, we went to the cars?" she asks.

"Yeah, that could work. Tell them all we went around front and had sex in my vehicle." Zack agrees. "But like, what position? Did you cum? If so how many times? Did we fuck multiple times or just once? Where did I blow my l..."

"Zachary!" Vicky brings her index finger up to the boys lips, shushing him, "Nobody is going to ask all those questions." she gives him a half smile, "to be honest, I doubt anybody will even care that we left."

"Except the killer?" Zack rebuttals, "The killer..., or killers may ask where we went. If it truly is one of our friends they would be worried about everything I'd imagine and be trying to keep an eye out on everybody."

Victoria takes a few deep breaths, pondering the situation before she continues, "Okay, so we make sure we put everything back in place, close and lock up the door and get back inside. Honestly I just want to get out of here, I don't like being in this room with..." her head looks towards the freezer, "Once we get back inside we can try to figure things out."

"Yeah, that sounds good." the boy agrees completely, "Although let's make sure we put this storage room back exactly how we left it. One sec, gonna make sure we didn't leave anything over by the freezer or drop something." Zack gives a nod before he releases her grasp, turns around and moves deeper into the storage room.

Moving back over towards the freezer he pops the lid open one more time and looks down at the lifeless body of Jennifer. He does a quick glance across her body, noticing the soft bruising on her chest and the giant gash on her head, everything else seemed normal for the most part, well normal enough for a dead body. The only other thing he was curious about was why she was completely naked? Was she possibly having sex with somebody and it took a turn for the worst? With one more quick glance over the body he grips the lid and forces it shut, sealing her inside.

Afterwards he steps back, looking over the freezer. With the little extra light flooding in from the green door which is open, he can see the entire outside of the container a little better. He looks at the little bit of blood that dripped out from the edge, where Victoria accidentally touched and his eyes move lower, towards the ground and that's when he notices something. Normally, it wouldn't be anything and truthfully his mind could just be playing tricks on him but he inches forward and kneels down, bringing his head close to the ground. "Sand?" he squints his eyes, looking at it harder, "Could that mean she was down by the pier swimming maybe?" Zack grumbles out to himself. "Or our killer was down by the lake?"

He pushes himself back up to his feet, unsure if the sand he sees is actually from Jennifer, the potential killer or has been there for the entire time. This is a cabin on a nice lake so to have random sand getting brought up isn't something that would normally be strange but in Zack's mind, any little thing he finds is trying to piece together the ****. With that, he turns around and makes his way back over to Victoria who is still standing right in front of the door, "Should be good to go, you ready?" he asks the blonde who seems a little lost in thought.

"The door was open!" Victoria replies, connecting her gaze with Zack's who just raises an eyebrow at the girl, "The door was open!!" she repeats again, "Heather said they always keep this storage room locked and earlier in the week she told me where the key was." Victoria continues to rattle off her thoughts, "But not only was the door unlocked, the key wasn't where it was suppose to be."

"So whoever brought Jennifer here knew it should be locked and where the key is?" Zack replies, "But why wouldn't they lock it back up and keep the key so nobody else could get inside? Why keep it unlocked? Especially if they were trying to hide the body until they could get rid of it later?"

"Maybe they got spooked?" Victoria asks, "Someone called their name? Or they heard somebody coming and had to quickly close the door and leave?"

"Makes sense yeah..." Zack mumbles out, trying to play out a scenario in his head. "Or they were drunk and just forgot?" he shrugs.

A loud crash echos outside causing both the teens to nearly jump out of their skin, "Shit!" Victoria exclaims out, "We should hurry up inside, sounds like the storm is getting closer and I don't want to be stuck here while it's raining cats and dogs outside."

"Okay!" Zack replies, gripping Victoria's hand with a firm grasp, "We'll get back inside and since it's raining a little bit we'll say we wanna change out of our wet clothes and go talk about this, figure out what to do, okay?" he could sense the nervousness in Victoria's face.

"O-Okay, yeah." she gulps down, "T-That sounds good." she nods.

The two teens step outside the green door and instantly shut it behind them. With Zack pulling his girl around, he continues to make his way the opposite direction they originally came from, not making their way back towards the wooden steps up to the deck and in the back sliding door of the cabin, instead he's making his way around the other side, "Figure we come in through the front door as it will make it seem more believable that we were fucking in the car."

"Good call, Zack!" Victoria finally smiles at the back of his head as he's pulling her along. As scared, shocked and worried as she was about Jennifer being dead and the potential killer being one of her friends, she was happy to see Zack taking initiative and truthfully, as sick and twisted as this was, she always did love a good **** mystery...
