Chapter 561 by Fiftyfiftyfifty Fiftyfiftyfifty

What do you do?

Set out again.

You go from travelling through the plains, to home, to the plains yet again all in a single day, though Nyllia is right. It isn't even noon yet, and you feel rested and ready to go. It's also exciting to be able to spend time with her alone as well. Back in the early days of your party, she was the only girl you knew at the time that wasn't completely hopeless. The girls in your party are capable, though can be a lot to handle. Though Nyllia definitely hides a wild side from everybody, it doesn't get in the way of her duty. She's incredibly reliable.

As you make your way down the road and towards the exit of town, you can't help but remember the forest when you first went out questing with her. By accident, you caught her bathing in a stream, but instead of her casting you away, she beckoned you closer. It was a shock to say the least. You cast your eyes on a gorgeous, naked elf washing her unclothed body, and she seemed to want you to keep watching. There was a coy, flirtatious tone in how she acted. She also used your first name.

Then again at the beach, when a strange lotion turned a ghost hunting trip into an outright orgy. Nyllia mentioned offhand at the very end that she possessed the ability to resist the lotion's effects, yet she was directly involved the orgy along with you. Nobody seems to know about this side of her but you. At least, that's how it seems. You're not entirely certain why, though she did mention how bored she was with dull folks. You seem to be a wild card in her eyes--a breath of fresh air.

Before you know it, you're back out in the rolling verdant hills outside of Avana, though this time to the west. She seems to know exactly where she's heading, so you simply walk along side her and trust in her leadership.

"Mr. Warren," she finally speaks up. Apart from the birds, the two of you are completely alone. "Something tells me much has happened since before our meeting that night a week back. You frankly seemed... afraid and lost, when we first met. Though I now see a maturity in your eyes I did not see before. You have seen many things."

"You could say that again," you mutter. "Vampires, succubi, undersea skeletons, crazy mages, desert battles, dream worlds, and so much more. I'm 7th level now, though since then, I've fought a colossal crab and a necromancer's army, so I gotta be due for another level up. What about you, Lady Tesgella?"

"I am currently a 12th level templar. I only recently reached this milestone, however. It certainly slows down once you pass ten. It is a lot of hard work, but I am happy to help those in need. That being said, I am getting rather tired. This is a bit of a rest for me."

"Fighting a wyvern is a rest?"

She chuckles. "They are not so bad. Dragons and wyverns are on a completely different league from one another."

"I've definitely had to deal with a dragon before."

"Oh? You had to fight one?"

"Not exactly. She was... just a handful."

Nyllia smirks. "I see."

"It isn't what you think."

"Of course."

This is a nice talk. I've come to really care for everyone else, but it's soothing to have a conversation with someone that has their shit together. To be fair, I don't exactly have mine together either. I don't really know what's going on with me.

You continue onwards. So far, monsters don't approach. You spot the odd goblin or slime, but as soon as you glare back and reach for their weapons, they scurry away. In the distance, you can see the Western Pecho Peaks. It does make sense that a wyvern would live out in a place like this. You're presumably still a day or so away from your destination, so it likely resides in a cave at the foot of the mountain range.

Eventually it gets late in the afternoon and your stomach rumbles.

"We should stop and eat something," Nyllia suggests. She halts, and places her bag on the ground. "I brought sandwiches. Would you like one?"

"Of course I would!"

The two of you sit cross-legged in the grass and munch. The sandwich is actually very tasty.

You swallow. "Did you make these?"

She nods.

I never really thought about her ability to cook, but I guess she needs food when she travel.

"But we should not linger for too long," she says. "We should continue walking until the sun begins to set, and then we can rest."

As she starts to stand, you hold up a hand and say, "Hold on just a moment, please."

She tilts her head. "Of course. What is it?"

The other girls know. She deserves to know. If she's going to be helping us fight Sa'dis as well, I can't just keep it a secret. Now that I think about it, I don't think she even knows about Earth. That part wasn't on purpose. I've just rarely seen her.

"I've got some weird stuff to say."
