Send him a message

Jane decided to send him a message. She had nothing to lose. If she didn't at least try to talk to him he would head off to uni and probably find a girl and she would never get to see him ever again. On the other hand she probably would not have to see him for a long time if her message was recieved poorly by him. And if he recieved it well, well, she would wait and see where it went from there. Checking her phone, she realized it was his birthday, and she hadn't been invited to his party, if he had decided to have one. He was the same age as her now.

John was just about to hop onto a game of League of Legends with his friends when his phone buzzed. He glanced at his phone, then did a double-take. It was a message from Jane. This came as a surprise because 1) they hadn't talked to each other in ages, probably because 2) he had asked her out and she had rejected him, before moving away and 3) because she basically ghosted him in the years she was away.

However, he had never been able to get over her, and her visits never helped, even though they never really saw each other and the only interactions they had were hugs which she gave to him alone and definitely did the opposite of helping him move on and only served to give him a stiffy, which he knew she noticed. He unlocked his phone, and opened Facebook Messenger, before clicking on the message.
