Chapter 9

So, what should he make of it? If not just sit around and wait for something to happen...?
See what else he can find in that camera
Jack was still unsure if he really wished to know what else he could in that camera he'd confiscated last evening, but found it difficult to stop thinking about it once he'd started. Thus it wasn't too long before he made his way back up to his room again, and tried to figure what kind of cord he would need to connect the device to his own computer.
After checking for a while, he figured he could as well see if his daughter Jenny had something useful on her room, which wasn't all too unlikely considering how many technical things she'd bought and broke or discarded over the years. Said and done, he managed to find her stash of "useful" leftovers in one of her wardrobes, which either of her sisters would've filled with even more clothes if they had the space, and somehow he was even able to find something that seemed to fit just fine within just a couple of minutes of searching.
"Well, that's a surprise..." He mumbled to himself, as he rarely found anything useful about any of his daughter's hobbies. And before leaving the room he also noticed that Jennifer's computer was still on, which gave him another idea of how to make good use of the girl's unwitting hospitality. His own computer was fairly old after all, and wasn't just slow to get started, but also had all it's sockets placed on the back for some unintelligent reason.
Annoyingly though, the girl had apparently decided it was worth the trouble of protecting her system with a password, which immediately put a wrench in Jack's plans to use it for watching the pictures instead of taking to his own. Well, it didn't deter him from trying however, but rather just provided him with the kind of challenge he needed to distract him from some other things that were on his mind.
"How difficult could it be?" He pondered while testing a few combinations of letters, with "Jennie" and "Jennifer" both being wrong, but was much surprised to gain access on the third try, by typing his own name just for the heck of it. In a way he should be flattered he guessed, but on the other hand he knew his daughter well enough to see the logic behind her choice. "Well, it's easy enough to spell at least, and not very difficult to remember..."
What first appeared on the screen was a little more shocking though, and caused him to stop and stare at the screen for a couple of seconds, before even making his way back to his room to fetch that camera.
"Kids these days..." He grumbled while plugging it in, and pondered for a while if it would be worth discussing the girl's internet habits once she returned from school. Not that she wasn't old enough to browse whatever she wanted of course, but for some reason this picture of a mostly naked, cartoon young woman was a bit more explicit than he'd come to believe of her.
Perhaps it was just the highly erotic pose and state of undress that baffled him the most, but the second time he looked at the girl he came to realize how her most prominent features reminded him a lot of Jennifer herself. In fact, if he didn't think he knew her any better, he'd probably thought that she'd painted the picture herself, as some kind of extremely fanciful self-portrait. Even worse though, considering that she wasn't much of an artist, was the thought that somebody else may have painted the picture, while using Jennifer as a model.
With such ideas passing through his mind, it was a tad bit difficult for Jack to focus on what he came for, and he started checking for a few more pictures before even remembering about the camera. It would take a lot of time to search the girl's entire computer though, and as far as Jack could find there wasn't anything quite as explicit in the first couple of folders, even if there were still a few questions he might want to ask his daughter later on...
So, what should he do then?

A story which I hope to work on when I have the time for it. For now it's closed for others, but I'll gladly accept ideas and suggestions for how to improve or continue the story! I've now started adding conditions, which is how I planned it from the start. So far it's recommended to read without activating the play function, but please try it out if you want, and let me know if you find something odd about the scoring.
