School the next day

“Ugh, why’s it so bright?” Maya sat up in her bed, her head banging and her skin burning. She was also super thirsty. She rolls out of bed, wondering how much she had to drink last night. This wasn’t the first time Maya had woken up hungover, but this was by far the worst. It also didn’t help that she was late for school. She quickly gets dressed and “borrows” her mom’s car so she can get to school on time. If only she had looked in the rear view mirror and noticed that her reflection was gone. She parks her car and runs to the school, partially because she’s worried about being late, partially because the sun is burning her skin. She must be really hungover.

“Maya, thanks for joining us.” The teacher said as Maya runs into her first class.

“I’m so sorry I’m late.” Maya says, sitting down next to her friends Dove and Bella.

“Anyways, as I was saying...”

“Yo, Maya, are you ok?” Dove whispered, nudging Maya.

“Looks like someone partied pretty hard last night.” Bella joked. Maya struggled to respond. She was so fucking thirsty.

“Here, have some water.” Dove says, offering Maya her hydro flask.

“Thanks Dove.” Maya says, accepting the bottle. She unscrews the lid and dumps the water in her mouth, while also spilling it everywhere.

“Miss Maya! What do you think you’re doing?” The teacher yelled, looking at the puddle of water in her classroom. Maya payed no attention to her disapproving teacher, or her bewildered friends. All she could think about was how the water tasted like shit.

“I think I’m gonna be sick.” Maya says as she runs to the bathroom.
