School Crush

Great the first day of classes of my last year of high school and I of course oversleep! Worst yet my first class is with Old man Macgregor for Canadian Historical Studies. Knocking on the door to be admitted, the old man comes himself to let me in “Well if it isn’t Miss Glover!, so nice to see you before the midterm, won’t you come in and take a seat?”

Not wanting to cause a scene, I go over to the last seat available. Sitting down with what feels like all the eyes in class on me, pressing me down into the seat, I get my notebook out and a pen. “Now as I was saying before this interruption, we will be taking a trip to Charlottetown this year to see first hand where the constitution was signed!”

For another thirty minutes he drones on about that we will be studying and what he expects from us this year. 10:10 the chime comes and we shuffle out class onto our next class. Luckily for me my next class is a spare. Out in the hallway I start off for my home away from home the library when I first spot him

Brown wavy hair, tanned flesh covered by a t-shirt with the school’s name screen printed across the front. He coming towards me, a confused look on his face , his eyes scanning both sides of the hall muttering softly 115, where the fuck is 115!” As he about to pass me, I decide to help him if possible.

“Excuse me!” he stop and looks to me “Is there something i might be able to help you find?”

“Probably, I got to find room 115, Art with Miss Birdsey!” holding out a map of the school. “Could you point it out for me?”

“Sure but since I’m going past it why don’t I show you where it is!” Looking into his brownish-green eyes “You past the hall that it is located in!” leading him back to the hallway that branches off this one as you come through the fire doors. “Second door down this hall!”

He turns and sees what we old students call the hidden hallway. “Great I walked past this twice now!” About to jog down he turns “Hey thanks for the help, maybe I’ll see you around sometime!” then he’s off finding the door and going in before the chime sounds meaning class is now in session.

Making my way to the library, saying hello to Mrs. Whitford as I past the sign out desk. Taking what has turned out to be my favorite spot in the whole building I get out my schedule and see my next class was Chemistry with Mr. Dunlop. Great! I had him for Grade nine biology so I knew all I had to do was listen in class and highlight terms in the textbook and I should earn another credit towards graduation.

Before long 11:20 chimes and I get up and make my way up to 213 and Mr. Dunlop. Getting there I spot my best friend Jan and her friend Kristen, grabbing the desk immediately behind them they turn to me and we gossip about how our summer was. Five minutes later Mr. Dunlop comes in. takes attendance and we begin with a simple experiment using Magnesium. As we start to do our write up about the results a knock comes to the door.

I”m sorry sir ,I’m new and I’m having a hard time finding my classes today!”

“No problem. For now why don’t you just take seat with Miss Glover!” The newcomer comes over but I’m so busy answering the questions that I don’t acknowledge his presence until he asks

“Excuse me are you Miss Glover?”
