Scene Nine

ENDORA: -Funny story… After the Witches Council told me that they could not be of help, I remembered that, a few centuries ago, your Aunt Hagatha had made a duplicate of the Hat of Triora, for a Halloween celebration. I wasn’t sure if she would still have it but, luckily, she did.

DARRIN: -That solves the mystery of where the hat came from, but doesn’t explain why my wife’s cousin just got naked in front of all of us…

ENDORA: -Oh, yes… Well, I assume she wanted to do something without being seen.

SAM: -What do you mean “without being seen”?

ENDORA: -See, the thing is… the Hat of Triora makes its wearer invisible and imperceptible to other magic users. Serena must be planning to do some evil deed and probably needed to be undetectable. The hat makes the body invisible, but not the clothes, so it’s always used in the nude.

DARRIN: -But she wasn’t invisible!

ENDORA: -No, Darrin, she wasn’t. That hat was just a duplicate, remember? It just looks like the Hat of Triora, but it doesn’t have any of its powers.

SAM: -Mom! Sooner or later, Serena is going to realize that everybody is seeing her! Specially if she goes to a public place buck naked! She will come back and curse me again!

ENDORA: -Well, yes, I guess she will. But, at least for now, you are dressed, aren't you? Don’t worry, darling. If she comes back, I’m sure that we will find a solution. We always do, don’t we? Not today, though. I have bingo night with my friends from Salem. But let me know if she comes back and we will see what we can do, okay? I really must leave now. Bye!

Endora disappears before Samantha or Darrin can say anything else. Samantha looks depressed.
