It turns out you're very closely matched with Emily - you might have an inch of height on her, you think, but you're both about as muscular.

"This'll be a good match," Emily says, grinning, as she plonks her elbow on the pad, on the countertop. "I guess now we'll see how badly you want this!"

You hook thumbs with her and slowly close your fingers around her hand, digging your elbow into the padding. When you glance around, you see that several of the other women are looking your way, seemingly mildly interested in the outcome.

Emily's grip is... pretty strong. She holds your gaze steadily as she squeezes. You stare back, trying to match her grip.
