Run for it.

Even if you could let yourself out later, you don't like the idea of being in that cage. Besides, since someone's been through the area already they may decide to take you somewhere more secure. Gripping the keys to keep them from jangling, you dash into the dark cave.

A while later you feel like it's safe to stop and look back. You're a bit surprised to find you've been running in total darkness a while now. You can't see a trace of torchlight behind you. Quietly you start to turn back, hoping to sneak back behind whoever it was you were running from. As you keep going, you start to notice an eerie disconnect; even with your arms outstretched as you try to feel your way through the dark, you don't seem to come close to running into anything. Your way forward is always clear. At the same time it sounds like you're in a tunnel, Even the sound of your breathing echos back to you.

A bit unnerved, you stop and turn to feel out the wall, but find a steepening slope before you reach it. At least you know how you ran through the dark without crashing, with the tunnel being so round you were guided towards the center without having to think about what direction you were running. Now that you know that however, you start to notice the path you're taking winds quite a bit. You're not sure you're even going back the way you came now.

Finally you see a light ahead and move towards it.
