Run away
Before his double could do anything, Jake turned, and ran to the door. He heard the doppelgänger shout something, and felt the singe of dark magic. But the door was only a few steps away. Jake threw himself through the door.
When he looked back, Jake saw that the room was deserted, and in the exact same state that he had found it in the first place.
