Run Away & Right Into

After what you've witnessed, only one thing passes through your mind: run. Before you can even think about it, your legs obey, and you find yourself sprinting who-knows-where. You're vaguely aware of your surroundings as you do: houses pass you by in a blur, the street gives way to dirt, and soon you're surrounded by trees. Still, you just keep running without thinking... until you run right into someone, sending both of you to the ground.

"AH! DAMMIT!"

Judging by the voice, your obstacle is apparently a woman, and as you drag yourself to your feet and shake the dizziness from your head she does the same.

"What the hell! Watch where you're going!" she screams, an element of panic in her furious voice. "What are you doing out here, anyway?!"

"I was-" you start, but she just scoffs obstinately and starts picking at strands of her long brown hair, trying to pick bits of dirt and leaves out of it. Then a shock goes through her face like she just remembered that she was about to die or something.

"I... I'm sorry, I need to... I've got to get out of here, sorry!" She starts to run, but you grab on to her.

"Wait! There's... *huff*... a wolf, and *huff* and rubber and..." you try to say, still breathless from all that running, but you don't need to say even a word more. She seems to get the hint.

"Did... did you say rubber? A wolf, and rubber? Ooh, I thought I was insane!"

Looking into her eyes, you instantly understand. She saw it too. She saw it, and she was running from it.

"Look," she starts, "we don't have time for talking right now. Those things could still be after us, and I really don't want to see what'll happen if they catch us. Come on, let's go this way."

She doesn't seem to have any better idea of where you're going than you do, but having actually seen what happens when those things catch you you're not too keen on staying here, so you follow behind her.
