Rough Sleep

You found yourself in the middle of your hometown. Seeing flames and debris around you. “Wh-what’s going on? I-I left this place.” You then noticed that both Kate and Rachael are nowhere around you. “Rachael? Kate? You there?”

You then heard a scream and recognized it to be your parents. “Oh no!” before you can even think, you made a break for it towards your home. You hear banging and crashing behind the door. You tried to go through the door, but it doesn’t budge. You started to slam your body to it to try and open it. “No! Please stop!” you pleaded, banging harder. “Stop it!” you spoke out louder, getting **** as you heard voices coming from somewhere.

(Real world)

“Rai?! Rai, Wake up! Wake up!" Your eyes snap open and you gasp as if you couldn't breathe at the moment. You turn to see Kate and Rachael looking at you, the Buneary having her paws on your mouth.

Both unharmed, yet with a worried expression on their faces. “Rai, are you okay? You've been tossing and turning and groaning in your sleep for ten minutes. You were about to scream before Rachael covered your mouth." Your sister explained to you.

You looked and saw that you've got dirt all over you. “Did you have a bad dream?" Rachael pointed out. You nodded your head in return. “What happened?"

“I was… back in Aurora… It was terrible, some huts were burning and broken wood, clay and other various things were thrown about everywhere. I heard me and my sister’s parents scream and tried to enter our home, but I couldn’t.”

“You saw such a horrifying moment. It’ll be okay, we must stay strong." Rachael pointed out. You smiled at her words and they both smiled seeing you not letting this bother you. “It's your watch. Are you up for it?"

"I'm ok. Thanks for asking." Rachael nods and proceeds to her sleeping bag. You turn and look around to your surroundings.

As you do, you can’t help but start thinking about this whole pandemic. ‘What kind of pandemic makes Pokemon lose all semblance of logic and attack any and every one out of hunger and lust. His isn't some new disease that appeared out of nowhere! Someone, or something caused this. But what, why and how? Was there a cursed artifact that someone willing or unknowingly unleashed, or is someone misusing their powers..’ You thought while your tail tapped the ground lightly. ‘Is just waiting at a survivor camp enough..?’

You feel someone besides you. You turn to see your sister next to you. “Can't sleep?" You asked. The pachirisu shakes her head no. “I'm scared big brother." Kate admits.

“Me too, but don't worry. We’ll find someplace safe to stay." The two of you then look up at the moon in the sky.

“You really think we can get through this Rai?"

"Together, we'll make it."

Kate then nudges closer to you. “I'm cold."

You place your arm over your sister. “Together Kate." The two siblings smiled and watch the moon.
