Chapter 6 by CrawlingM CrawlingM

What's next?

Ronnie finds the secret room

As Jason returns to his duties, Ronnie had strolled off in the direction of the restrooms. However, he had no plans of going there, and rotated back around to aisle seven.

Ronnie would normally not have accepted the shop boy's sarcastic put-down as having a grain of truth to it. But for some reason, he felt that he'd accidentally come across a treasure trove. A place where he'd find anything he could ever wish for. Well, Ronnie was a guy that always wished for things he could not have. Other people kept getting in his way, with their laws and personal opinions and whatnot. He was a bitter, self-centered excuse of a person who miraculously managed to keep a roof over his head while skirting the thin blue line. If he got a chance to take more than someone else thought he deserved, he was damn well going to do it.

As Ronnie came upon aisle seven, he slowed down and gave the two sides a long hard look. What looked like a ventilation pillar coming up from the basement came up through a part of the aisles set up against the outer walls of the store. It had small shelves with packets of memory sticks and chargers installed on it, but as he came close and scrutinized the shaft, he could see the outline of a five foot tall door behind it.

Bending down, he found a button that when pushed popped out a door handle for him to twist, opening the door. Ronnie glanced around as he made sure he wasn't spotted, before crouching inside. A winding staircase brought him down into a sparsely decorated room with a small sofa and a coffee table in one corner. In the opposite wall, there was a red door, a drawer that was probably accessible from both sides, and a intercom system of sorts with a push-to-talk button.

On the wall next to the intercom system there was a poster. It said: "Step 1. Make a wish. Step 2. Enjoy!"

Ronnie was skeptical and hummed as he pondered what to do. He'd hoped for his wishes to be easily available in shelves or boxes or something, not by request by some person on the other side of that door, or whatever.

What does Ronnie wish for?
