Robin and Starfire

The two young lovers took off across the rooftops, Starfire flying while Robin used his gadgets to get around. The boy wonder was determined to not let his mind wander this time, not once checking out the cute alien above him while he scoured the city.

"Over there!" Starfire called out, pointing down at the street. "Near what on this planet you call a bus stop!" Robin saw them too, two hooded men trying and failing to be stealthy. They each had a duffel bag over their shoulder, and after a few more paces disappeared into an abandoned building.

"Definitely suspicious," Robin agreed, using his grappling hook to swing to the next building. "We should check it out."

"Do you think they have my sister?" Starfire asked, her green eyes full of hope.

"I don't want to get your hopes up, Star," Robin replied honestly, his girlfriend's dejected look killing him. "But... of course there's still a chance!" That seemed to raise her spirits a little. After giving him the cutest of looks, she flew down to the street level, Robin right on her heels.

In a move they'd practiced a thousand times, the two heroes flanked the entrance. In one fluid motion, Starfire broke the door down as Robin threw out his birdarangs. They caught the goons completely by surprise, the first three incapacitated by Robin's attack. Two others raised their guns but were quickly dispatched by Starfire's star bolts. Robin leapt at the last enemy, taking him out with his bo staff.

"That seems to be the last of them, friend Robin!" Starfire cheered, though her joy soon turned to confusion. "But, I don't see my sister."

Looking around, Robin found the duffel bags they had seen earlier. Opening them, he discovered they were filled with bags of cocaine. "Sorry Star, this looks like a dead end. Seems they were just a couple of **** dealers."

"So, they were not connected with Slade?" Robin shook his head, much to her dismay. "Then we are no closer to finding my sister." The news hit Starfire hard. The alien's green eyes filled with tears as her emotions overwhelming her. Running forward, she pulled Robin into a **** hug. The boy wonder returned the gesture, trying his best to comfort his girlfriend.

"I am sorry Robin, I cannot help but feel the hopelessness," Starfire whimpered, closing her eyes and letting the tears run down her cheeks. "What if my sister is in danger?"

"I wouldn't worry Star. You remember how tough Blackfire was when she took us on. If she can take on the Titans singlehanded, Slade doesn't stand a chance."

"Really?"

"Of course!" Robin reassured her. "And I promise that we will keep on looking until we find her. Friends don't leave friends behind."

Pulling back a bit, Starfire looked her lover right in the eyes. "Thank you, friend Robin. I... I now feel the reassurance."

"That's good," Robin replied, smiling. The two lovers looked deep into each other's eyes, letting a comforting silence fall between them.
