Chapter 550 by Fiftyfiftyfifty Fiftyfiftyfifty

What do you do?

Rest a bit longer.

Eventually Amara does let you sit up. You dip your legs into the spring while sitting on the edge, and she joins you directly to the right--hips pressed tightly against yours. Straight after, her mother sits on the other side just as close. Their two naked bodies squeeze you between them. Thankfully it all hasn't overheated you yet, though you'll definitely need some water when you get back to town.

Everyone is still a little winded.

"This truly has been magical," Yaera says. She tilts her gaze down towards you. "Has it not?"

You're still a little flustered by it all. "Yeah... I don't know what to say."

"There is nothing that needs to be said. Here we are, surrounded by nature, with bodies fully open to the world's elements. I am so pleased to know you are the one protecting my daughter, Kyle Warren. I have no doubt in my mind that you and her will become great one day... And you are already wonderful."

Amara slides her arm underneath yours and holds it tightly against herself. She nods. "Whatever terrors the future brings, I will be here to support you, and not only with my magic. Also with my heart."

"She tells me you live with many other women," Yaera says.

"Technically yes, but--" you start to explain.

"This is purely unrelated, but I would not mind having grandchildren one day."

"It is not a competition!" Amara says.

"I said no such thing. Either way, it is he that filled you up, yes?"

Amara lights up and presses her hands between her legs. "I did not even think about it!"

"You were begging for it," you say beneath your breath.

Yaera slides her fingers through your hair. "I have no doubt in my mind that my daughter would some day become a wonderful mother," she whispers. "However, of course that time has yet to come. You have much to do. You best not impregnate her quite yet." She chuckles.

"Mother!" Amara shouts. "I h-have a couple vials in my bag, okay?"

She carries those with her? I guess that's responsible, but...

It's difficult to tell how much time has passed since you first came to the spring, but after a short time longer, the three of you all stand and garb yourselves in towels. The two elves look stunning, standing there with wet hair and bodies covered with nothing but a towel tightly clinging to their figures. You wrap yours around your waist, and you make your way back to where Yaera hung everybody's clothing up to dry. Embarrassed by her mother's eyes watching her, she slurps down a familiar vial, and then you catch those same eyes looking to you, though she says nothing.

The clothes aren't completely dry, but they're dry enough. You wipe off what you can with the towel and then begin to dress yourself. Both Yaera and Amara cover themselves in their elegant white dresses once again, and you stand in your blue tunic, armed with your trusty (cracking) sword.

When the three of you return to town, you're met with praise. Word has spread throughout the settlement that the threat was defeated by your group of four, though nobody seems to know anything about the fourth. You drink some water, and you and Amara stand side and take time to cool down together. It's her mother doing most of the talking. They know her after all.

Eventually, it's time to start doing what you actually came here to do--find a frost lotus.

Yaera returns to you with a warm smile. "As for your quest, the residents here told me of some spotted very recently. I have some errands to run here, so why do you not both travel there together in the meantime? It should be a simple task. Just follow my directions, and keep your eyes open. The area is not so dangerous."

"Sounds fine to me. What about you?" Your eyes turn to Amara.

She nods in response. "That sounds wonderful."

What do you do?
