Chapter 9 by fantaghiro fantaghiro

What's next?

Randall has to go and says he'll tell you tomorrow at school

You learned the next day that despite Randall's assurances, he still had the same 'prankster' personality and found the idea of screwing with you too good to pass up.

Randall approached you first thing in the morning before class. He pulled you into the corner of the hall, by some lockers so you could chat privately. You were so excited that you paid no mind to his body language - the way he kind of leaned against you andput his hand on your arm. The conversation was innocuous enough. He gave a detailed account of the information dump his new parents had put him through during the last week. "It was a crash course on Teresa's life, dude!" he said in an exasperated tone.

"How are you doing it?" you asked. "I can't imagine keeping it all straight. And learning all that girl-stuff..."

He grimaced - a rather cute expression on Teresa's face. "You know, it's weird. I've been able to pick up all this stuff super-easy. It's more like I'm remembering how to do it rather than learning it for the first time."

"Teresa!" you heard one of her cheerleader friends - Tracey, you thought - call out.

Allison was out that day - she had gone for a weekend trip with her family and wouldn't be back until the evening - so at lunch you just grabbed a table to yourself. You were surprised a few minutes later when Randall plopped down beside you. "Hi Tim!" he said sweetly.

"Ra..." you started to say but then caught yourself as two other girls sat down at your table - Tracey and Rhonda, two of Teresa's friends. "Uh, hi Teresa," you said, taken completely offguard.

"Is it okay if we sit here?" Randall asked.

"Sure," you answered, feeling a little awkward. You weren't sure what to say or how to talk to Randall-as-Teresa with the girls around, but Randall easily struck up a conversation.

Before long you found yourself laughing at his jokes and actually enjoying yourself. Tracey and Rhonda didn't talk as much - you thought you caught them giggling and whispering to each other a couple times - but they were friendly and funny as well. Randall acted like you were casual acquaintances, asking lots of questions about you that of course he really knew the answers to.

You were amazed at how easily he handled the situation. Randall could be a smooth talker when he tried, but the new 'Teresa' seemed so genuine and sincere - a sweet, bubbly, exhuberant teen girl.

Lunch finished with 'Teresa' promising to catch up with you later. You headed back to class in a much better mood, assuming that this was Randall's way to setup a friendship between 'Teresa' and yourself. "Pretty smooth..." you thought to yourself.

The first indication you got that something was going on was when...
