Chapter 6 by daciasdesire daciasdesire

A need for discussion?

Putting words to feelings.

As Karen hunched kneeling and on one elbow as she collected the runoff that was coming out from between her thighs she motioned to Spencer with her chin. “Be a sweetie and grab me something for this, would you?”

Spencer jumped at her command and did as he was asked. Stepping off the bed he cast his eyes around for something to give Karen. The only thing he could think of that might help were her previously discarded panties. “Would these do?” he asked holding up the almost neon piece of fabric.

“Perfect sweetie,” she told him as he passed them across and she tucked them under her and locked them between her thighs so that she could rest on her side properly at last. Spencer’s eyes followed to the iridescent bolt of pink barely showing from between her shapely legs.

Since he’d got up, Spencer started began to feel self-conscious at standing naked in this woman’s home. Sure, they’d just made love but he felt **** and alone all of a sudden without a piece of clothing to shield himself.

As if sensing that Karen said, “oh lie back down Spencer.” She laughed. “You look like a worried schoolboy standing outside the principal’s office like that.”

“Sorry. I’m not really used to this sort of thing. I don’t really know what to do with myself,” he admitted with what he hoped was a disarming smile.

“Spencer! I think you did very well for yourself indeed. You made an old woman practically giddy.”

Spencer laughed now, feeling his tenseness ebb away. “Thank you, Karen. Honestly. And don’t let me hear you calling yourself an old woman ever again. I could barely keep up with you. I didn’t… too soon, did I?”

“For how long it had been for you, I think you did admirably Spencer. It wasn’t too soon that I didn’t orgasm myself. Thank you for that.”

He smiled at knowing he’d been alright and that Karen had enjoyed herself and got her own pleasure from it.

“Thank you too. I don’t know what to say. I mean, that felt wonderful. It had possibly been too long but that was just incredible. I’d forgotten what a rush it way like.”

“Each time only get better and better,” Karen said in confirmation and some hopeful broaching of it may be happening again.

Spencer looked trouble though. “I can’t…” he started then changed his mind. “It was all very sudden and very lovely so I think I have some thinking to do on my own if you don’t mind?”

“Take all the time you need Spencer. I’ll be waiting if you feel comfortable and rest assured this will stay completely between just the two of us.”

His fears put to rest, for now, Spencer stayed with Karen in her bed for a while longer before getting dressed again to go home and shower before picking Amy up from school that afternoon. Spencer and Karen had hugged goodbye at the door and even shared a little bit of a more adventurous kiss in parting. He’d picked his daughter up and she’d told her father how she thought she’d gone in her test today and that she’d been picked as third base in her school softball team. Spencer stopped to pick up pizzas to celebrate their way home rather than having to cook. Over dinner and a movie with Amy, Spencer allowed his mind to wander and reflect back on his first sexual encounter in six long years.

The next morning Spencer had Amy at the school with plenty of time before the bell for the first period rang. Getting out of the car to wish his daughter goodbye, he thought he was imagining that many of the different parents, mostly mums, were turning and looking his way as he said farewell to Amy. Small groups of twos and threes formed to whisper and turn to look at him as he watched Amy walk off toward the school.

It wasn’t until Darcie Collins, the mother of Amy’s best friend Kimberly, came up to him that he realised something was wrong. On seeing Spencer arrive, Darcie had butted out a smoke on the ground that she was trying to sneakily have and ushered Kimberly off to go meet up with Amy. She’d heard the rumour and wanted to confirm its validity from the source.

“Hey Darcie,” Spencer greeted one of the women he’d become friends with in his time in Avonwick.

“Hey Spencer,” she returned. “Did you really fuck Karen McAdams or is that just bullshit?” Darcie was abrupt and to the truth as always.

His eyes went wide in fright and shock which was all the proof of the rumour Darcie needed.

“So, it is true! You old dog you! So how did it happen? How was she?” Darcie questioned him rapidly feeling herself getting excited at finding out a secret.

“Who told you? And who else knows?” Spencer asked quietly taking Darcie by the elbow and drawing her closer to his car to whisper.

“Who do you think? Karen’s told everybody. I’m sure practically the whole school will know by this afternoon,” Darcie delighted at his grief.

Spencer stood up taller and then and looked around urgently for Karen McAdams. She was normally a very recognisable figure at the school drop off and pickups in her brightly coloured dresses and skirts. Perhaps sensing she was being looked for, Karen turned to look at Spencer from where she was no doubt gossiping about what had happened with Spencer to another handful of moms. Noticing the look on Spencer’s face she excused herself from their group and darted quickly towards her waiting car door and was driving away from the school before Spencer had the opportunity to take two steps towards her.

Giving up on trying to chase her, Spencer turned back to Darcie who asked, “come on Spencer. Fill me in like you did Karen.”

He furrowed his brow and rolled his eyes at Darcie. “Not here. Meet me at Corner Coffee House. I’m going to need a strong coffee after this.”

At Avonwick’s favourite, and only, coffee shop, Spencer ordered drinks for the pair of them and went as sat down while he waited. Spencer would feel compelled to tell Darcie everything if just waited and let him get everything out himself.

“Karen asked me to come over yesterday and fix a light socket,” Spencer said beginning his tale.

“And you ended up fixing her socket!” Darcie gaffed. She couldn’t help it.

He breathed out strongly through his nose at Darcie in exasperation but continued telling. “I hadn’t planned on anything. Things just happened and we ended up in bed together.”

“Gees Spencer. If you needed to get laid that badly, you could have just asked me. At least I’d keep my mouth shut about it afterwards,” Darcie said.

He shot a glance at her just then and for the first time that day, Darcie was suddenly unable to meet his stare. “And I’m sure your husband Tony would feel great about that,” he snapped back annoyed.

“But it was good? You enjoyed yourself?” Darcie returned to her original question at the school.

“Well… yeah I did. I haven’t done it for years. I was practically a virgin all over again.” Spencer didn’t feel comfortable going into great details about what should be his private life but told Darcie that Karen had guided him through everything and it had been a very pleasant “release” of sorts.

With his confession out of the way, Spencer and Darcie remained at the Corner Coffee House for the rest of the early morning and stuck around for an early brunch in companionable friendship. They got along well. Darcie was as straight a shooter as it came and Spencer found it helped to get his thoughts straight in his mind by admitting everything to her. He’d been livid at Karen that morning at the school but had a chance now to cool down. He’d immediately wanted to follow her back to her house and confront her over blabbing about then and breaking her word of the day before. Now, he was just content to leave things as they were and let things be as they were. Spencer knew from his time in politics that a small scandal such as this in an even smaller town would blow over quick enough if neither party did anything stupid so quickly afterwards.

It wasn’t yet lunchtime when Darcie and he were ready to leave the coffee shop. Spencer was thinking he’d go home and take his kayak out onto his lake for a paddle that afternoon when they stopped out the front of the shop to say goodbye.

They hugged and Spencer thought Darcie Collins held him tighter and longer than he would have expected when she said, “And Tony wouldn’t mind if something was to happen with me. He’s had some health problems that have put a damper on things in the bedroom.”

Before he could say anything about her cryptic words, Darcie let go of Spencer and turned and walked away quickly from him down the street without looking back.

Go for a paddle or is there anywhere else Spencer should be?
