Putting a stop to it.

Beth was fairly sure what he did have in mind, so it was time to put her foot down. "Well, it's been fun, Jeff, but I should really be going."
"Oh... so soon?" He was trying to play cool, be suave and seductive, and she had to admit, it might have worked on a weaker-willed woman.
"Yes." No nonsense, and firm. Mm.... don't think about things that are "firm"!
"Okay." He withdrew his arm. "It was worth a shot, I guess. You're pretty hot, and I can't stand the girls at school." Beth was a little taken aback at his frank tone and words.
"Well, I'm flattered." She was, Beth realized. "But I'm also engaged. And I'm your little brother's piano teacher. It wouldn't be appropriate on a few different levels."
"Well, I hope I didn't offend you." He was shrugging his shoulders and acting sheepish now. Aww, he's embarrassed that I shot him down.
"You're a stud, Jeff, and you're sweet. You'll find a nice girl, who isn't already getting married."
She almost ran inside to hide her blushing cheeks. It was quite something to have a virile young college athlete say those things. And his eyes! Penetrating.
"Listen. Some of the other ballplayers, we have a casual game on Sunday. Miner Park at 2:30. If you want to watch, we love an audience."
Beth thought about it. Every other Sunday, Brian went to his best friend Mason's house for cards. He was usually there from 2:00 to 8:00, later if he was doing well.
"I'll have to think about it." She grabbed her purse. "You stay out of trouble, okay Jeff?"
"Yes ma'am." And he winked! Incorrigible.

Beth drove home in a bit of a flustered haze, trying to sort out her emotional reaction. The audacity! I'm happily... The problem was, she wasn't sure she was happily anything right then. {if Shame >90
}Don't be ridiculous! Of course you are!

}I am...I'm very happy... I am.... {endif
