Pull away

In an act of fear and desperation you try to pull away, to retreat into the bed away from the man. He throws back his head and laughs, not soft this time, but thunderous and full of mirth. A shiver you can't explain rushes through your body and your try and pull back further only to find your back up against the bed's headboard.

"Oh rabbit." The man laughs, wiping away a lone tear. "You still don't understand the nature of your situation, do you?"

You feel your temper flare at his condescending tone and the degrading nick name, but what can you do? What do you dare do?
