Rescued from the pit

You wake up abruptly to the smell of burning. Looking around you appear to be redressed as Petra sits beside you holding your hand.

“Iyda, is your head okay?” You grab your head as a dull pain pulses through it.

“Yeah, think I’ll walk it off. What happened?” you ask.

“I guess you fell into a pit of snakes. We managed to fish you and your gear out before Bax lit the pit on fire. I used a cleanse poison spell on you so hopefully you’ll be okay.” You look over to Syvella who sits against a tree. Her eyes meet yours as her face turns red before avoiding your gaze.

Oh gods Syvella saw me… That was… a little embarrassing yeah.

“Thanks Petra. I should be good from here… Where are the others?” you ask looking around.

“They’re waiting just up at the road. Now you’re awake I’ll meet them and tell them the news. Meet us over there when you are ready.” She gets up and slowly walks off back to the road. Feeling awkward about being exposed earlier, you walk over to Syvella who sits against the oak tree.

“Hey about that…” you say.

“I’m so sorry.” She says looking at her feet. “I should’ve been more careful. I didn’t tell anyone what happened other than you lost your gear and fell into a pit.”

“Uh, right thanks, I guess. We should be gettin’ back to the group.” The two of you head back to the main road to reunite with the group.
