A Bond.

You stared in her eyes searching for any reason to deny what you felt. You spent more than thirty fucking years thinking you were in love only to have it unrequited and thrown away. Then here, in this world, you feel a deep connection that could only be love with someone you bought the prior day. How could it possibly be love. Why could you almost feel the love she had for you. You knew she wasn't lying. You knew she wasn't just infatuated with you, but how could you know that. She stared back into your eyes as if she knew what was going through your head.

She furrowed her eyes slightly and finally said "Talk". You sighed and explained your hesitancy, but explained that you could almost feel the love she had for you and knew she wasn't just infatuated with you.

"When I spoke of bonds within my people I was not making up a word to describe love silly. I meant an actual bond where two people can feel what the other is feeling if they concentrate hard enough on it" she explained.

"It is why jealously is so rare with us. Who cares if someone enjoys sex with another person when you can feel the love they have for you, remember" she said.

"Before I wanted the bond to exist between me and that coward, and I was so **** that I was blind to it never existing to begin with, or perhaps I thought you had to work at it to feel it, but I now know what it truly is" she says closing her eyes to enjoy it.

"I have felt a bond growing between us, which I told you, and I've felt some of what you have been feeling. Never more so than now" she says and gives you a kiss on your forehead.

"So what can you feel when you concentrate on me" you ask.

"Anger" she says and looks slightly confused.

"Fear" she says looking at you compassionately and running her hand over your face.

"That you deeply want to feel unbridled love" she says putting her hand over your heart.

"Lastly what I can feel is the reason I was able to tell you I love you in the first place" she says pausing and staring into your eyes. You wait for her to explain further and you can tell she's enjoying torturing you by delaying. Finally you can hold out no longer.

"What woman...what is it you can feel. Please tell me" you laugh while begging her to continue.

"You already know what it is, and I will not be the one to say it" she replies smiling back at you. You do know what it is. You don't know how it happened so fast, or why, but you know.

"That I love you too" you say closing your eyes as a tear runs down your cheek to drip onto the bed.

The love you felt from her before was like a dripping faucet. It was there and there was no denying it. Now it was like a torrent from a fire hose. It was beautiful and you kept your eyes closed basking in it. It was like the sun warming you for the first time after a cold day. Yvette hummed and you opened your eyes to look at her. Her eyes were closed and she had a blissful look on her face. She opened her eyes a second after you did and stared back at you smiling her beautiful smile back at you.

"You aren't afraid anymore" she states.

"No, I am not afraid anymore" you reply. She reaches down and grabs your hand and you snuggle your foreheads together basking in the feeling. Sleep takes you both as you feel contentment wash over you. You've never been so relaxed before.
