Adam smiled and waved at his co-workers who were greeting and congratulating him.He had a very nice relationship with his colleagues especially with newcomers.

There is a reason why he was the most famous and looked up person in the office.

But just that.He never had any personal relationships with anyone.He only helped them and trained them but never got too friendly.

He wanted to get the thing done as soon as possible so went to the boss's cabin without even knocking.

He smiled seeing the person.She was one of two people that he actually care in the office.

He heartfully greeted the woman saying"Good morning Layla.Looking good as usual".

The women named layla was sitting in her chair browsing through some files for the day.She was his boss but there was no hierarchy between them.

She was dressed in a normal business suit with her black hair tucked into a ponytail.

She was at same age as him with a much filled out body than his wife.She also has cute freckles on her face but it didnt made her any less intimidating.

If he was the carrot of the office then she was the stick.

She smiled in return saying"Same to you adam.So what are you gonna do with the promotion?".

Adam sighed replying"I will reject it layla.This time it will stop completely".

Layla grimaced at the news.She was one of the people in the world who personally knew everything about him aside from his wife.

Since they knew eachother from childhood.

She also knew the dealings between him and the CEO since she acted as a middle person between them.

Layla was about to say something but saw the determined look on his face.There exist a thing called "being too good" and that was what hurting adam.

She saw him leaving the office as she prayed that nothing bad will happen.

Adam confidently walked past the guard and reception girl and they didnt checked him nor stop him.

He used the finger print scanner as he was one of the few number of people that had access to it.

Adam got inside as the door locked behind him as he searched for the woman.

He instantly found her submerged in various laptops instantly browsing through different markets as she wrote some details on her personal notes.

Adam was once again made to remember the absolute beauty infront of him.

In terms of pure beauty,she is miles ahead of every human being he has ever seen in his life.Even his loving wife looked like a commoner compared to the woman infront of him.

She is much younger than him at 24 years old with shiny silver hair upto her shoulders.She wore a blue and red business suit perfectly fitting her petite figure.

Her eyes were ruby red as her skin was very smooth and tender just by looking.

She can easily pass off as an angel descended into human realm.Thats how etheral she looked.

Her name is Veronica Cortez.The CEO of the establishment and the youngest billionaire of the decade.

She saw him entering the room as a huge smile broke on her face.She instantly paused everything she is doing and converted all her attention to him saying "Welcome adam.Make yourselves comfortable".

Adam grimaced at what he was about to do as he was second thoughts just by seeing her innocent smile.

Upon seeing the promotion letter,veronica congratulated him saying"Congrats on the promotion.I hope it was to your liking".

Adam sighed as he made up his mind and slammed the paper on her table making her jerk back in shock.

He looked at her seriously saying"i dont want this promotion.Like i said before not only there are many other candidates but also this is too ridiculous even for me".

Veronica was genuinely confused at his words but instead smiled saying"Oh.Iam sorry for undermining you.I will then double the amount it specified.I think that will be ok".

Adam pulled the paper from her hands and ripped it apart making her looking at him in shock.

He didnt stop there and delivered another shock to her saying"Iam quitting this office by the way.This is my resignation letter".

A paper was thrown at her face as she was still staring numbly at it.

Her only intelligible reply was" What?".
