You manage to visit regularly but Nancy becomes romantically interested in you.

Although your job did require you to travel some over the next few months, it wasn't nearly as demanding as you feared. Your boss was very understanding of your 'loss' and so didn't push you too hard, giving you ample opportunity to visit Sarah.

Unfortunately you got almost no time alone with her. Nancy decided to stay until after the baby was born, so she was constantly around whenever you went by. At first you felt uncomfortable - maintaining the pretense that Sarah was Charlotte was difficult, making it seem more like Sarah had actually died. After a few weeks, though, you got used to hanging around the three of them.

You became close friends with Robert, ironically spending more time with him than with Sarah as Nancy would drag her off to shop for baby clothes or work on decorating the nursery. And when you were with Sarah, Nancy would usually pair with you for conversation.

You had fun with them but the continuous pretending wore on you. You envied Robert and Sarah's relationship - they had to get past any uneasiness and awkwardness to fool Nancy, and their neverending impersonation of a loving, married couple **** them to become close. You weren't jealous, per se, but you felt frustrated that the only time you could be open with Sarah was on the phone or over Skype.

By the end of two months Sarah was showing her pregnancy. She had a glow of happiness and contentment about her, and she and Robert seemed closer than ever. You watched as she would place his hand on her stomach to feel the baby kick, and listen to them as they would discuss baby names. You could have let yourself become resentful or angry, but you instead clung to the relief and gratitude about Sarah still being alive. You owed Robert everything, so you tried to be happy for him.

The turmoil of emotions you felt kept you from realizing how much time Nancy was starting to spend with you. You didn't think anything of it when she suggested that the two of you go out in order to give 'Charlotte' and Robert some time alone. Honestly, it was a welcome distraction for you to spend a few hours with her and not dwell on the situation with your wife. It soon became a regular event, with you and Nancy going out every Friday to enjoy dinner and drinks. You thought you noticed Sarah behaving a little strangely around you but ascribed it to the pregnancy. "Surely she's not jealous of Nancy?" you asked yourself. "If anything, I'm the one who should be jealous..."

It was a strange routine that you had fallen into, and it continued until one night....
