After two hours Mr. Woodsen needed to refuel the car, so they stopped at a Meechies which had a fuel pump attached just an hour out from the cabin. Damon went to refuel the car, everyone else took this as an opportunity to stretch their legs. Zack and Damon quickly began discussing the latest cop novel Damon recommended Zack before the summer break. After a good ten minutes while talking about cases Damon worked on as Zack was always interested in such things they suddenly heard Ashley’s voice as she sat down next to Zack: ‘’Oooh! Did Monica prepare her legendary sandwiches for us!’’ She said enthusiastically as she saw the basket filled with sandwiches and drinks.

As she went to grab one Damon softly smacked his daughters hands away from the basket. ‘’We should atleast wait for the others you know.’’ He said with a disapproving wave of a finger.

‘’But dad! They take even longer then I do!’’

‘’Speaking of taking a while, all this waiting has made me need to pee too. I will be back in a bit too and don’t you dare steal a sandwich Ash! I’ve counted them!’’ Damon said as he stood up to take his very own toilet break.

Before her dad turned around, she shot Zack a raised eyebrow basically asking if the last part was true. ‘’He didn’t’’ Zack said with a chuckle.

Ashley decided to play it safe regardless and Zack couldn’t contain his laugh as he saw Ashley think better of it. Ashley just pouted in response and instead decided to tease Zack. ‘’Your laughing at me but how is the Victoria situation going.’’ Zack immediately stopped laughing. ‘’Now that’s just cruel Ash.’’ This time it was Ashley’s turn to double over laughing.

‘’No, but seriously how is it on that front?’’ Ashley said while resting her head on her hand while looking at Zack with genuine interest. ‘’Kinda gave up on that front to be honest wouldn’t it just be a better idea to enjoy my senior year and see what happens instead?’’

‘’Awhh that’s such shame, I had it all planned out already. I would’ve been able to drag you guys with me and Brandon on double dates too.’’ Ashley pouted at her plans being ruined.

‘’Now you’re just making me think I dodged a bullet Ash.’’ Zack chuckled as he realised he dodged some serious Brandon time, Ashley was hell bent on making them spend time together as she wanted her childhood friend to become friends with her boyfriend like they once were.

‘’What bullet did you escape Zack?’’ Paris said with a questioning face as she walked up to the pair sitting at the table.

‘’What do you mean deadly!’’ Ashley said in fake outrage. Zack couldn’t help but having to laugh and Ashley joined him. Paris just stood there wondering what was so funny.

After everyone returned from their toilet break, everyone quickly devoured Monica’s amazing sandwiches and not ten minutes later they went back to the car, however now there was a giant bag of groceries in one of the back seats. ‘’Oh shit sorry! Robert asked if someone could bring some extra groceries and since we are at Meechies we took some with us, but as you see we didn’t have enough room in the back. One of you will have to sit on someone’s lap.’’ Sarah said.

‘’I’m not going to sit on any laps and I won’t take anyone on my lap either.’’ Ashley quickly exclaimed. Zack just sighed knowing the coming hour will end up being hell.

As everyone started getting settled, Paris gave Zack a soft smile letting him know she isn’t the biggest fan of the plan either. As Zack walked up to the front door with his bags along with Paris' bags slung along his back, he was the first up along with Ashley. Just as Ashley rung the bell it didn’t take long before the door was opened.
