Second Date.

“Hey, I won’t be at the gym this week, I am working on setting up corporate stuff.” Chris texted Bella on Sunday night. “But I’d love to take you on another date next weekend if you’re free.”

“Oh bummer,” Bella was disappointed to hear she wouldn’t see him earlier, “I am free and I would love to! I had a really great time on Friday.”

“I had a great time too! How about we go to the Santa Monica Pier on Saturday? I haven’t been yet.”

“Sounds amazing! I think you’ll love it.” She replied.

“Great, I’ll pick you up at midday?”

“Perfect!” She sent with a smiley face.

“When was the last time you were here?” Chris asked.

“I haven’t been here since I was a kid.” Bella said, licking her ice-cream.

“Yeah my parents brought me and my sister here a couple times. Everything definitely seems smaller” She laughed.

It had been a perfectly clear warm day and the two had spent the afternoon on the pier playing games, eating merrily and laughing. And were now looking out over the water watching the sunset and eating ice-cream. Bella had a plush tiger, that she had won on the whac-a-mole game, tucked under her arm.

“You look beautiful by the way.” Chris said, admiring the way her skin was glowing in the late afternoon sun.

Bella leaned over and kissed him. The kiss lingered for longer than she had initially intended and became passionate. Chris softly held the back of her head in his giant paw as they hungrily locked lips. They both eventually pulled away and smiled at each other. Suddenly the lights of the Pacific Wheel lit up.

“Do you wanna go for a ride?” Chris motioned towards the Wheel.

“Yeah.” Bella nodded, not taking her eyes off Chris.

He took her hand in his as they walked towards the wheel.

Daniella and Maria were peering out the window, hoping to get a glimpse of Bella’s new man. They watched as she closed the Mercedes door and walked up to the house. Maria hurried to the kitchen, as to not be caught spying and Dani waited by the door.

“Kitchen…Details…Now.” Dani said opening the front door before Bella could knock, not even saying hello to her sister.

After filling her mother and sister in on the extent of the date Bella finished, “And then we went for a ride on the wheel. I couldn’t stop kissing him.” She laughed, “I feel like a teenager.”
