Chapter 6 by PiZzA101 PiZzA101

Does Ava's cooking go smoothly?

She Needs Cinnamon

Ava had bread, syrup, butter, and eggs, so it was fairly easy to figure out what she wanted to cook. French Toast was one of her favorite dishes, so she couldn't help but feel gravitated towards the dish. Ava quickly went to work, unpackaging a spatula, a pan, and all the food items she needed for her dish.

As Ava moved about the kitchen, and began putting away the items in her bags while the first few pieces of bread began to toast on the pan, she couldn't help feeling as if she was forgetting something. As far as she could tell, some sort of crucial step had been forgotten. A step absolutely vital to the process of making French Toast. As she placed the last few hygiene items in the bathroom, it dawned on her like a flash. "Cinnamon!" Ava yelled out loud, sprinting back to the kitchen. Of all the ingredients to a good French Toast recipe to forget, Ava had accidentally left out cinnamon. She had even remembered vanilla extract, an ingredient that was not technically necessary but greatly improved her recipe. So for this reason, Ava felt greatly frustrated with herself. She'd already began the process, so it was too late to choose something else to cook.

It was then that an idea sprang into her mind. She recalled meeting at least two of her neighbors, and they both seemed respectable enough to loan her some cinnamon if they had any. Now that she was at least dressed in something publicly acceptable to lounge in her apartment while wearing, she didn't have to fear the embarrassment that came with encountering her neighbors previously. With her mind set, Ava abandoned her cooking temporarily, and moved towards the door. She quickly stepped out into the hall, but stopped just outside the doorway. She felt like, again, there was something she had forgotten. It was then that Ava clapped her hand to her forehead, before remembering she needed shoes, and keys.

Unfortunately, it seemed the universe had other plans, as the door shut tight right as she moved to turn around. Not only had it automatically closed and locked itself, but the door had a corner of the robe she was wearing in its clutches.

Ava gulped, before whispering "Oh shit..." to an empty hallway.

What can she do?
