Ariana doesn't mention her new dress

Ariana is already at home when you arrive back. You had hoped to be home before her so you could check out places to take Kali, but it's also nice to come home to a home cooked meal. She doesn't say anything but you think she looks a little flushed and flustered, especially as you walk up and greet her with a kiss on the cheek.

Usually your wife would tell you how her day went without you having to ask, but tonight she's quiet. You linger in the kitchen, waiting to hear if she'll tell you about the new dress on her own. She notices you standing there and smiles gently over her shoulder.

"Dinner should be ready soon."

She thinks you're hanging around because you're hungry. Well, maybe you can give her a little push without asking outright.

"Thanks honey. So, how was your day?"

"Um, good, yeah." She isn't looking at you, and focuses intensely on moving the sizzling meat around the frying pan with the wooden spoon.

Another little push, before you decide she's definitely hiding it from you.

"Did you get up to anything interesting?"

She doesn't immediately answer and you sense some hesitation, as if she wants to tell you but thinks better of it. She shakes he head softly, her hair falling around her face to further hide her expression from your gaze.

"No, just work, then came home. Really boring stuff."

Now you know that's a lie. You get a sinking feeling in your gut. Matt wouldn't tell you what exactly they talked about and now Ariana is lying about having even done anything with her day at all. But it doesn't make sense, because Matt seemed to expect that Ariana would probably show you the dress. If something inappropriate happened, Matt would have tried to hide it too. But something is definitely going on.

You eat dinner in silence mostly and afterwards she leaves you to clean up while she goes to take a shower. She often takes a shower at night, but she also always takes a shower after she's been out shopping because she complains that changing clothes so much always makes her sweat a lot. So even though your wife taking a shower in the evening is normal, you still hold it as evidence that she did go buy a dress today.

As she heads upstairs you think about what to do about the situation. Your first option is to wait for her to come out and confront her about the lie. Secondly, you could sneak upstairs and see if she left her phone in the bedroom while she showers. If she's left her phone out, you could check the messages between her and Matt to find out what exactly they said and did. Lastly, you could ignore the issue completely and just use this time to find somewhere to take Kali.
