A new friend

Piper hissed “She’s coming right this way. If we don’t get rid of her we’ll have every guy in this place on us. Literally, if Jess’s fate is any indication. Maybe we can just hide…”

“Oh, hi! Are you guys doing the monster hunt thing too? Have you seen my friend Jess? She was right behind me but she disappeared. I like your dress! Did she come back this way?”

The newcomer seemed completely oblivious to the frantic ‘hush’ motions the trio made.

“I don’t know why she would have turned back without telling me. Maybe she did tell me, I was focused on being stealthy.”

A low moaning sound rose from under the table.

“Don’t you just love the sound effects?” added the new girl happily.

Sam started, hesitantly, “…listen, I’m not quite sure how to tell you this, but we actually did see Jess…”

“Anyway, if I can’t find Jess I guess I’ll have to team up with you guys” interrupted the girl.

The moaning abruptly erupted into passionate screaming.

The three girls looked at each other, desperately trying to find a way out of this, as Sam continued “…as I was saying, we saw Jess and…”
