Briefing the Captains

"Point Ale is the station's trading lane. Its completely un-obscured but its also the most direct route and the closest. Beer is obscured by Shots," Katla highlighted the cluster of meteors designated as 'Shots' "A picket is likely but I doubt it will be more than a single ship. Finally point Cider is a bit of an outlier but its likely to be completely undefended and its also obscured by Tequila." The gas cloud designated as 'Tequila' highlighted red. "The risk there is that the Authority will manage to bring in their own supply ship via point Ale by the time we manage to transit running dark across the system. The benefit is if they don't we can take them completely by surprise. High risk, high reward. Any questions?"

"Was it truly necessary to name the points after devices of inebriation?" The voice asking that question sounded almost tired, as if resigned to the answer. Who was that? Heavy cruiser... Foxley! That was it. She hadn't even had to look at the woman's decent-sized chest for it.

"No. No it was not. Any others?" Katla continued cheerfully, noticing the way the twins captaining one of her corvettes covered their mouths in response. Whether at her expense or Foxley's Katla couldn't tell. Considering how they quickly stopped as soon as Foxley looked their way Katla decided it was at the other noblewoman's. One of the twins was next. Katla was pretty sure it was Isabella by the ship's pin adorning her breast but Astrid had been quick to brief her about how that didn't actually mean anything.

"Who will be handling the boarding operation? All respect to Captain Kane but her own field is far more suited to the latter part of her role." I.E Kane was a logistician not a fighter, fortunately she either took no offense at the remark or hid it well, giving a nod of agreement.

"I thought to give command to one of our warrant officers," Katla explained.

"That would be Astrid I presume?" 'Isabella' asked, the amount of familiarity in the question caught Katla off guard in a good way. It was nice that her friend's name was known. Then again she'd been around the ships more than Katla had as the Viking-turned-lady had been busy with the finalization of her peerage.

"It would. Is that an issue?" Katla asked, raising an eyebrow. Responded to by the raising of her right index finger which meant that the corvette captain had meant no offense but still wanted to get her point across. Katla knew she was supposed to raise her pinkie in response to allow it, or her own left index finger to shoot it down. Instead, she nodded. The message got through just fine. They could be there all day if she allowed noble signage.

"No disrespect intended. I've seen the good warrant officer's skill first hand. However," There was always a however. Or a but, "the dishonor was done to the Crown of Avalon. Allowing a member of the peerage to head the counter-blow would do much to improve its impact. My sister perhaps." Astrid had admitted that the twins were good. Even great, when it came to personal weaponry. She hadn't had a chance to discover whether their command skills matched. But that might make them perfect for this. A chance to gain experience when the fight was expected to be easy. The only issue was that the whole operation depended on how quickly the station could be seized and offloaded...
