"Colleagues having lesbian sex while locked in a bunker who knows how far underground," Sarah said flatly.

Tera sighed, "Spoil sport."

Sarah shook her head and waved as she walked away, "Have fun." 'I'm just not ready to have sex with Ashley again, not yet anyway. I'm just not sure I can keep it casual—' She bumped into someone, knocking them to the ground.

"I'm so sorry," she apologized, and bent down to help pick up the supplies that had fallen out of the woman she'd bumped into's hands.

"No, no," the other woman said quickly, "I wasn't paying attention to where I was going."

Sarah reached out to hand some papers to the women and stopped. "Dr. Ikeda?"

"Yes. Oh," she stopped and adjusted her glasses, "Dr. Berns?"

Sarah blushed, slightly surprised someone so accomplished would know her name. "I didn't realize you were here, Ikeda-senpai."

Dr. Ikeda smiled, "Thank you for calling me senpai, Dr. Berns, but you overestimate my contributions. Your work is far more interesting than mine."

"You're developing plants that respond to human nerve impulses, I'm not doing anything that interesting," Sarah protested.

Dr. Ikeda smiled, "I read your dissertation, Dr. Berns. You were able to successfully reconfigure the DNA of MRSA to both lose resistance to some classes of antibiotics, and spread that DNA to other MRSA bacteria. Your work paved the way for work against all kinds of resistant bacteria, and even cancer."

Sarah blushed again, "You give me too much credit, Dr. Ikeda."

"Nonsense. I'm sorry, Dr. Berns, I would love to talk with you more later."

"Of course."

"Thank you," Dr. Ikeda bowed slightly and hurried on down the hall to a lab near Ashley's.
