“No” you say flatly. Taking the jerky from Morph’s hand, you take a bit then spit it back out.

Handing her your jerky. “First off morph that was my food and I can waste it if I want too.” Going around the orc woman and seem to slightly slap the mid center of the girls constantly demonstrated bubble butt dead center. Several hours later.

Walking into what seems a shallow cave. “Are you coming or do I have to carry you. Or did you change your mind about following me?” If only if it would be that simple.

Breaking out of her frozen state, but still not turning from the rock man that’s staring at her with an eyeless gaze. “Are.. Are you sure it’s safe master?” She asks ready to run. Taking a quick glance into the cave. She slowly walks after you not turn her back to the rock monster. Looking around when completely in the cave. “This is your home it’s so small.” Trying not to sound disappointed with you.

Walking to the end of the cave you turn around to a hidden alcove and motion her to follow. “No this is just the front entrance. Now come on keep up.” Leading her to a steel door with a powered down electronic lock. Charging your hands with electricity you place your hand on the door. Soon the lock turns on and you both hear a loud audible click. Not removing your hand you shortly hear another click. “There we go.” Standing at the open door you wait. “Hmm, batteries must be dead.”

“What? What are we waiting for out here and what were those clicks? Is it safe?” She asks cautiously.

“The clicks were the lock on the door and the second was me draining the electronic detonator from when I powered the lock. It was set to go off once the door was open. And now I’m checking to see if anything has snuck in since I left.” You say standing in complete stillness.

Looking at you in a amazement “Why did you have a bomb on the door and how are you checking for intruders?”

“Intruders, that should be obvious.” You answer not looking at her. “And I’m trying to check for anything by their body heat. It’s kinda like smelling food and looking for a specific plate. It gets easier with less distractions and harder if there is more distractions. Can’t really use this to search in a city to many mixing heat signatures.” Nodding to your self, finding nothing here, you let out a few pulses of electricity. “That should take care of any pests in there.” Walking to a blocky box a few feet from the entrance you start charging the box with electricity. “Damn absorber batteries, good at least they still hold a charge. Why don’t you go on in Morphy, and explore a little. Don’t worry the rest of the traps aren’t active.”

“Ugh, I’ll keep you company master.” She says nervously. “So what was that rock monster from before.”

“Oh Rocko, he’s an old friend that took augments from his absorbing power to far. Changed too much of his original body to rock and turned feral but is really just harmless. Kinda sad that it happens to a lot of absorbers when they start using their powers.”

“Did you do that? I mean put something into yourself and absorb it?” She asks.

Concentrating on charging the battery you answer, “ yeah I did, but just on my knuckles to test it.” Showing her your left free hand the pieces of jagged metal sticking out of your knuckles at a point. “The rest I got augments to do it for the sub dermal skin layer, boosting my powers and some other things too.” You avoid giving her a straight answer. Looking at her you can see the fear in her eyes at the situation of being in the dark and the only exit blocked by a rock monster. “Ask what you want if it will help calm you down.”

“Alright. Okay. Your powers what do you mean boosted? I always thought that wasn’t possible.” She inquires.

Damn she had to pick that. “Okay. Well, I had it done as an emergency. How and why isn’t important, cause it was at the time. What it did was give me a boost of my power well so to speak and supercharge my absorbing and projecting. To the point I made my self younger by charging all my cells and rejuvenating my whole body to my younger self.”

“That. That shouldn’t be possible! Powers shouldn’t work that way!!!” She practically yells in disbelief.

“As I said it was done and that was the result. I have no clue how it works, it just does.” You pull you hand away from the batteries and flip a switch and watch as the sting of lights you set up to turn on. Watching as the lights reveal an old underground bunker. “Yeah, I found this place years ago. I think it was an only military bunker or somebody paid a lot to have it done that way. When I found it, the place was fully stocked with supplies, and I try to keep it up. There’s about five rooms on this level take one for yourself Morphy, while I go check everything out.”

Walking away from her you check out your inventory of foodstuffs and other supplies that might have spoiled or rotted with time or if any animals might have opened anything. Taking some old mre’s from your storage you head back to the main common room for your base. Throwing the food packets on the table you look around.

“Now where did she go?” Asking out loud.
