Chapter 3 by takacube takacube

What's in a hand?

It'll be pretty much the same, except neater

Thomas mused around this for a few moments.

For an english teacher, he had to write out a lot and, while the trend had seen the incorporation of computers and electronics into the classroom, he still had to make sure his handwriting was very legible for anyone to read. Plus, one of his pet peeves was seeing sloppy penmanship. There was no excuse, people had to know how to write and print and at the very least sign your name on a piece of paper.

1.) IF YOU WERE A GIRL...WOULD YOUR HANDWRITING BE NICE?

If he was being truly scientific, Thomas would've paused and wondered more about why being a girl would have anything to do with the way and style in which he wrote. Sure, if he was being pedantic, girls when they were young wrote a lot of notes and things that he, as a boy, did not. Nowadays, though, with the spread of smart phones and texting, did girls even bother to write anything on paper anymore? He'd be very surprised, frankly, to learn that the girls in his class even knew how to write out an essay.

Still...

He clicked his pen. I would have the same handwriting, though I suppose it would be neater and a bit more flowly. He laughed at that last word he wrote. "Flowly". That wasn't even a word but it was an indulgence of his to make small little exceptions to an otherwise impeccable grammar and spelling routine. With that answer down, Thomas turned and set the paperwork by his side and picked up the next report. As he clicked it, his hands felt a little tingly and he shook them out, not noticing how they shrank slightly and his fingers became a bit more refined.

A few more hours later, Darlene still snoring soundly at the table, Thomas placed the last reports into his bag and after stretching a good bit, rose from his chair and gently helped his wife up from her spot and guided her to bed. He hated turning 50 but it was life, people grow old and suddenly life just seemed to be sucked out from you. As he settled into bed, she snoring away peacefully, he laughed a little at the quiz and realized that a highlight had, unintentionally, been that question.

2.) IF YOU WERE A GIRL...WOULD YOU LIKE PINK?

Pink?
