Search the castle.

Kashura seems absolutely livid that not only did you best her easily, but you're leaving her behind. You have a time-sensitive quest here, however. The longer you linger, the higher the chance. So you and your party depart from the bed chamber and begin creeping through the silent, dark halls of the ruined castle. Unfortunately, the inner structure itself is largely undamaged, meaning no sunlight is visible. The windows are boarded up, making it incredibly difficult to see, but you dare not light a torch and alert anyone to your presence.

Fortunately, some of your party is quite adept at seeing in darkness. You follow behind Alice who has the keenest sight, followed by Amara who can see almost just as well, though her hearing is great as well. Eva is next, who has likely the best hearing in the party. Then, you and Niki are left at their mercy.

There's a grand curving staircase up ahead. The hall continues around it, which leads you to a large set of double doors at the foot of the stairs. You'd rather not head to the next level yet. Quietly, you all stand near the doors and listen carefully. Something grabs your attention shortly after, and to make matters worse, it's a noise not coming from inside at all. It's coming from the hall ahead.

A set of footfalls lead around the other curving staircase. There's nowhere to go but back, or into this room.

You make the snap decision to open the double doors and hurry inside. Either you get caught out here, or you get caught in there, and you know there's someone out here. This has to be the right move. And if you go back the way you came and someone frees Kashura, you'll have double the trouble. You have no idea what she's actually capable of either.

As soon as the party is in, they shut the doors behind you. This room is illuminated by eerie blue candles held in two chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. There is an unlit fireplace and sets of comfortable chairs, sofas, and mostly empty bookcases along the walls. It seems to be a parlour room.

You peer around too see what you feared.

A woman, pale in the face, sits upon one of the chairs with a worn book in her hand. On the opposite end of the room, another ghostly figure stands facing your party--a man. They're both vampires, you're certain of it. You're trapped in a room with two of them, with potentially another one right behind you. There's no way out.

All you can do is fight.
