You consider your landlord's offer. It certainly seemed like a kind and generous one. But opening up about the nature of your new job also made you realize that you can't just live a lie anymore. The real truth was that somehow a part of you really enjoyed working as a porn actress now. It was exciting and full of thrill, and the money was certainly good enough that you don't think you'd have to resort to being a maid for your decrepit landlord after today.

"I'm sorry, but I just can't do that", you say, flashing the softest of smiles as you look away from him. You're still trying to appear slightly coy, even if it's all just an act at this point.

"Why not?", he asks, sounding surprised that you'd decline such a good offer.

"Because I like working as a porn actress", you admit to him. If you're going to be honest, might as well go all the way.

"Even if it costs you your future?", you landlord asks. You're surprised by how caring he seems all of a sudden. Perhaps he has a soft spot for crying women? Or perhaps he gained a newfound respect for your honesty after formerly viewing you as nothing more than a troublesome tenant.

You think carefully before answering. "Yes, I'm sorry. You'll have your money tomorrow", you promise him. You'll figure you'll just have to work double shifts today to ensure that you have enough cash to pay him with. Even if that means signing up for every single shoot and sucking every cock on offer in the studio today. You look up at him as you flash him a soft smirk.

You landlord looks at you for a moment, then nods. "Then I'm sorry too, Marlow", he says. "Good luck with your... new career. Just make sure the rent is paid on time from now on", he adds, and you briefly catch him looking you up and down. You nod back, and he turns around to head back up the stairs.

You also proceed to step outside your apartment, closing your front door behind you. At least you've managed to appease him for now; although you probably really should pay him tomorrow to avoid risking his wrath. You really couldn't afford to lose your apartment right now.

You hurry outside to try and catch your bus, only to arrive just in time to see it drive away from the stop. You curse your landlord under your breath as you pull out your phone from your pocket. Half an hour of mobile browsing later you manage to catch the next one, and you ride it towards the other end of town.

You exit the bus and head towards the studio. You have to admit you're curious, perhaps almost excited to learn what today will bring.
