Dinner Date!

Cold!

So very cold. I can see my breath and feel my teeth chatter. Maybe going sleeveless wasn't the best choice of attire tonight!

Shaking the doubt in her head, she lifted her pale hand to land with a thud against the wooden door.

Knock-knock-knock!

Viola hugged herself before thinking that it wouldn't be the best pose to be caught in. No no, maybe look casual, a-a hand on the hip type of pose! Yea that works, come to think of it did they want me to knock on their door or sneak through the window? T-the latter would have been quicker, and much much w-warmer. Fall is killing me, looking sexy was never supposed to be this punishing, ack!

Hearing the door knob begin to turn, she adjusted herself with a hand against her waist in a quick pretend manner to avert her true status. For a moment, she was frightened to think it would be the wrong house, ha! Imagine, dressing up and freezing only to show up to some strangers doorstep, please. My life isn't that insane, I hope. Instead, she found herself looking at a familiar femme fatale who also knew how to dress judging by that dress which hugged her curves pretty damn well. For a moment, she envied the hell out of that dress.

"Kitty, glad you could make it." Lauren beamed, giving Viola a feeling of warmth inside. That tone in her voice brought her back to feeling as if she were hugged by her mother when she was so little. It almost helped deal with what felt like frost forming on her shoulders and hair. Almost.

"Hey-choo!" She saved herself there, turning rapidly to the side when she sneezed. Ugh, just like that the cold came back in full **** and her disguise slipped away. She sniffled before feeling herself begin to shake again.

"Gesundheit, here come in." She reached forward and held her hand, helping her step inside, The contrast of hard pavement to soft carpet followed by the warmth of hospitality and a functioning heater was welcoming. "You were freezing your tail off, your hand feels so cold. Do you need a blanket?"

Viola shook her head, rubbing her nose before feeling something wrap around her neck and shoulders.

"There, that should help and I better not see you take it off. Not until I say, okay?"

"I-uhh... f-fine. Thanks hehe."

"Good girl. Come in, we were just getting started." She nodded, lifting her arm to see a cute warm blanket draped on her like a make-shift poncho, along with a fuzzy scarf. It felt super comfy, she hugged herself and squealed inside before following Lauren to the dining table. There she could see the whole family was there, and the clanking of glass cups being set down meant she really did arrive just in time, they hadn't started yet. What luck!

Everyone looked over and smiled, with Miranda waving her hand and Titania gazing with rather wide eyes and an awe expression on her, which kind of made her giggle. Robin had the cutest face of both relief and concern, standing up from his chair as he approached her. "Hey, are you okay?"

"Huh? Oh yea, you're fine-I'm fine!" Viola stuttered, clearing her throat and ignoring the yuck sound Miranda made. "Just, it was a bit cold outside."

"Yea, I think the temperature is starting to drop pretty bad. Why did you dress up like that when it is like freezing outside?" Miranda asked.

Robin frowned and assisted Viola to her seat before reaching over to set down her plate, with Lauren smirking at the corner of her vision. "It wasn't that cold an hour earlier, I guess I just didn't think ahead." Or at all, pretty dumb in hindsight. Well it was enough for Miranda to shrug, leaving Viola looking up at Lauren as she sat down. "Is it okay if I can take this off?"

"Sure, but the scarf stays for now, Wouldn't want you to catch a cold."

She nodded, pushing the blanket behind her as it hung on the back of the chair. Titania blushed, catching an eyeful of her neighbor's cleavage. She looked really beautiful with that top, and the new hairstyle left her feeling all sorts of private thoughts inside. I need to get through dinner with her looking like this? She pressed her legs together before scooting closer to the table, her mind racing to replace those fantasy images with literally anything else.

"Wow." Robin sat back, amazed at what he saw. "You look really beautiful today."

She blushed, "Thanks."

"Damn, really trying to impress at work huh? Did you get the promotion? Ow!" Miranda flinched, feeling a kick to her shin with Lauren giving her a look that said behave.

Viola smiled, brushed her hair away from her eyes. "I wish, but no I don't think I have the guts to go there looking like this. Lots of people I don't want looking at me at work haha."

"Of course," Lauren smiled, reaching for her fork. "I get that, thank you." She more or less admitted to her want to impress them, and Lauren felt happy inside when she read that. She wasn't sure if the girls understood it, which only made it feel even more special to her like a sort of inside reference. "So, shall we start with dinner then, dear?"

Robin blinked before shaking his head, hoping he wasn't caught staring. Little did he know he wasn't the only one. "Yes, now that you're here we can all start. Girls, you remember Viola, Viola, the girls." Viola waved back at Miranda although Titania swallowed and looked down before muttering a hello back to her.

"Now, let's feast."
