Emily's dilemma

You check around the office, but there seems to be no one else around, except you and Paul. Since Paul is busy doing your work, there's no way you can catch a ride with him. You can either hope to hail a cab, ride the metro, stay and help Paul, or walk. Walking is something you'd do as a last resort. Staying to help Paul is also something you really don't want to do. A cab would be the best way, but you don't have enough money on you for the fare. Pay day is tomorrow, so you might be able to charm the cabbie into covering it for you until then. Other than that, you do have more than enough for the metro.

The problem with the metro is the route it takes. From your office building, it goes all over the city, including the hood, before it gets to the stop near your apartment building. But once there, you're practically home free with only the fish in the aquarium, your brother Steve, and your mutual roomie to contend with. As long as you stay on the metro, and don't get off once you're in the hood, you should be all right.

Now the only remaining question is, what do you want to do?
