Aftermath

Noriko had heard the fight, their voices had carried through the nearly empty house. It was maybe 30 minutes after she heard her mom's car pull out of the driveway, that Noriko went up to her father's bedroom. She stepped in, knowing her father would most likely still be processing the fight, absorbing what had been said. As she came in, she saw him sitting on the bed, hands covering his face. "Dad?" she said softly as she sat down beside him, "Everything okay?"

After a moment of silence, John looked up at Noriko. Tears had been streaming down his face, the man who could stare down and entire C-Suite and Board of Directors, sat there in tears. "I kicked your mother out Noriko. She's been cheating on me with Alex, my own flesh and blood."

Noriko hugged him, held him close. "How did you?" She asked him, sitting down beside him, close to him, her arms going around him.

"How did I find out?" John asked his daughter. "He knocked your mother up. Alex fucked your mother and knocked her up. How could she be unfaithful? How could she let another man knock her up like that?"

She kept her thoughts about how he hadn't really been any different, had the tables been turned and she'd been caught, how would Suki have reacted? Noriko sighed, "Dad. Your relationship has been on the rocks for years, we both know that, she knew that. This was almost inevitable. It hurts, both of us, but it was going to happen."

He looked at his daughter, "I suppose. It's still a shock to find out she was sleeping with {Sean} these last six months." he sighed, "Of anyone she could have cheated with... We're getting a divorce, I'm not going to leave her in the cold, but she's not getting much, enough to live on but that's about it."

Noriko nodded, "Dad, can I suggest something. Take the high road, give her more then she deserves." She paused, "What if that had been me? And Mom had discovered you'd impregnated me? How would she have reacted? Would she have been angry that you cheated on her with her own daughter, and had the audacity to knock up her teenage daughter? Would she have pressed charges for ****? Ruined your life? Our Life?"

"I suppose you have a point Noriko," he said, "I'll talk to my lawyers see what they say, how best to proceed." He looked over at her, "Thank you Noriko, you are level headed and practical, one thing I admired in your mother, still do if I'm honest."

She kissed her father, "Everything will turn out fine Dad, you'll see."
