Musings and thoughts about this story

Hi to all my readers, thank you all for the many views, likes and comments. This page is a summary of some of my ideas and other information about the story. It contains a few spoilers (yes, Mr. Patterson does get to have sex with Alison) and history about my inspiration for this particular story.

First of all, although I am writing this in first person, I am not Mr. Elijah ‘Pat’ Patterson. I share a few of his characteristics – I am close to his age, I like to cook and putter around the yard and I do own a house near a college that I could rent out to a student or two. I have taught in both public and private high schools for many many years but I am not retired, and I also have a wife and two have grown children.

I certainly hope that the differences in my life are more significant than those similarities. First and foremost, my wife was not killed in a car accident, we are still happily married and I would not trade her for any 19 year old coed, no matter how pretty or sweet. I'm sure at least in part because of her love and belief in me, I am neither compulsive nor bitter about the state of humanity in general and the US in particular. In fact, I firmly believe that the world continues to grow into a better place as we navigate and learn from the trials (this year has been tough) that test us.

The inspiration for this story was TheOptimisticDuck’s Ultimate Fantasy: Emma Watson here on CHYOA (which I strongly recommend). The idea of having someone as attractive and fun as Duck’s Emma be willing and eager to try out all sorts of fantasies with the main character appealed to me, but I started thinking how unlikely it would be. My creative mind set to work on what would have to happen for an average looking middle-aged guy like me to get that lucky. The work so far is the most plausible scenario I could come up with.

In part, I started to this story because I wanted a break from the massive Athenapolis and Lady and Highwayman epics that I’ve been working on for almost ten years. Both of those stories are near and dear to me, but the complexity of working the many different storylines back together into a complete story arc requires thought, planning, careful writing and revising previous threads. I have not given up on either story, but I wanted something a little more linear with fewer diverging paths.

One of the reasons I write on CHYOA and not literotica (for example) is that I like the fact that the reader can explore different options. I get annoyed at ‘choose your own adventures’ that offer the reader no choices, so my goal for this story is to have two choices at the end of each thread, but to keep the story-lines all moving in a similar direction. Inspiration for this came from Unpleasant Guest by SarenActerius, the reader still can make choices but the main events in the story end up pretty much the same. At times I admit, as a reader this feels a little frustrating, but I hope you will forgive me if I warn you about this now.

By now. some of you may have noticed that threads end with a choice between a **** gentler option and a more hard-core version. Some of you have commented about directions you would like to see the story move and 11kestrels has even added a few chapters (thank-you). I read all your comments and try to use your suggestions as much as possible.

Especially on the ‘darker’ paths there is some **** at times when Alison fails to come up with the rent money (note to all of you both male and female, this type of **** is highly illegal and should be taken to the police if it happens in real life). I also expect there will be some consensual role-plays where Alison is ‘****’ by the main character, but for the most part this story will not get too ugly. I like both these characters too much to go very dark with this story so if you are waiting to see Alison, abused, ****, stripped of her dignity and turned into a mindless ‘cum bucket’ this is not the story for you. Likewise, I am not a big fan of ****, so I doubt there will be any ‘daddy/daughter’ play either, although I can certainly see the many possibilities.

My hope is by the end of the story, Alison and Pat will both, in addition to having a lot of good hot sex, have changed for the better with Alison growing more confident in herself and Pat realizing that life is still worth living and becoming a little less grim.

A note on pictures. I am experimenting with adding visuals to my writing. I have mixed feelings about pictures in these stories, but I thought I should give it a try. My goal is to have one picture for each thread, so we’ll see how that goes. I apologize for not correctly giving credit for the photography, most of the first images are of Leighton Heegaard who showed up when I did a search for ‘doe-eyed.’ The nudes are harder to give credit to, (they are not all the same model, but many are of Jannah Burnham). I tried to keep the pictures of the women similar enough to those in the opening chapters that it is not jarring to the reader when the images switch from one model to another.

On religion. I am not anti-religious and have a great deal of respect for the good that houses of worship can do all over the world. I am however, deeply concerned with fundamentalists from all religions. I find that when people start believing that they are absolutely right that they become dangerous, this is particularly true if these same people decide that their belief system overrides the beliefs of others. Young women, in particular, seem to suffer from the strict social rules that most fundamentalists feel is important. Whether in the **** (sold off as brides or given to powerful church leaders) or a more benign control like being told that a second ear piercing is a worldly sin and any act of intimacy is a carnal sin, it feels to me like it is the young women who are the most ****. So at times the main character may challenge the belief system that is such a big part of Alison's upbringing. This is aggravated by his own rejection of God after the **** of his wife, hopefully just as he helps Alison break free of her fundamentalist's parents, she will allow him to regain a little of the faith that he lost.
