Let's see who else is around

Sally and Julie decided to leave Mr. Ackley to his day of fun while they explored more of the town. Once again Julie grabbed Sally's hand which the new arrival didn't mind terribly as it reminded her of the way she and her girlfriends used to cavort around town when she grew up in the old world.

As they rounded the corner at the end of the block, Sally, for the very first time, got a glimpse of the famous Link Cum Park. Now finally the promised park lay before her in all its glory. The front entrance was adorned with an ornate marble fountain which hosted a spectacular bronze statue as its centerpiece. Sally remembered the statue from the cover of the neighborhood brochure Ted had given her that finally won her assent to the move. The figures in particular had amused Sally.

While the nudity of the two mythical figures was not an unusual sight in the prude world, the pose they assumed was certainly unlike anything one would find in a European cathedral. The statue, Sally had read, depicted the Greek demigod Orpheus and his tragic lover, the nymph Eurydice. Orpheus strides ahead while holding his trademark harp beneath his chiseled arms. Behind him kneels Eurydice, her torn robes loosely cast around her lithe frame and her mouth lewdly shoved up the musician's arse. As Orpheus makes the fateful decision to turn around and gaze upon his beloved, an arm rises from the earth and grabs Eurydice, contorting her figure, and dragging her away from her young lover and into the depths below.

Noticing Sally admiring the statue, Julie offered, "The original planners of the park sought a monument to caution against jealousy, particularly among married couples. You see our town was first founded as a place where people could get married and raise a family, while still enjoying the casual sexuality that has been part of our world since time immemorial." As Julie told this story she let her arm wrap itself around Sally's waist, and, to her delight, the momentarily transfixed blonde offered no resistance.
