Chapter 2 by Innateecstasy Innateecstasy

Whom do I see?

A clown

I scream! He closes his eyes and covers his ears with his hands to block out the noise. He is muttering something and I take this opportunity to run out of the room. I keep running, not knowing where I'm going till I find a library. I open it and walk in, locking the door behind me.

I've been shit scared of clowns since I was a kid. I had been to a friend's birthday party, the elders were drinking and talking inside, while the clown they had hired was supposed to entertain us with a few tricks. He scared us with horror stories of how he ate kids and if we ever told anyone about this, he'd find us at night while we were sleeping and eat us. I obviously found out it wasn't true when I grew up, but the fear still remains.

I tried to compose myself and waited, hoping he'd be gone soon. After some time had passed I got up from my sitting position at the door and straightened my outfit. I opened the door cautiously, not wanting to make any noise, but it creaked loudly. What else did I expect from an ancient house? I peeked outside, the coast was clear so I walked out.

I wanted to get back to my bedroom, but the house was huge with too many long, winding corridors. I kept moving, opening every door and entering every lane, trying to figure out where to go. I was roaming in circles and always ended up at the exact place I had started from.

I was starting to get frustrated, I took another turn and there he was! I froze in place not making any noise. He looked back and saw me, and screamed. He turned and made a run for it. Feeling confused, I **** myself to be brave and chased him. When I almost reached him, I yelled at him to stop. He did.

Trying to find my voice, I approached him carefully and started a conversation.

"Hi, I'm Raine. I'm sorry about earlier. You see, I've always been afraid of clowns and you kinda caught me off guard."

He turned and smiled, it looked sinister, like he was ready to tear me apart. But I stood my ground and looked closely. His painted face made him look scary, but if you removed the make-up, you could describe his smile as sweet or shy.

"Don't be sorry. A lot of people are scared of clowns. Not me though, I always saw it as an art, a way of expressing myself, like drag queens. I quit my job and started my own business, offering services as a clown. Unfortunately, it ended even before it started. Now I'm stuck here."

"I'm sorry that happened," I said, sympathetically. He just shrugged. He seemed like a nice person.

"I'm Dave, by the way. What are you doing here? You don't seem like a ghost."

I gave him the highlights, regarding the break-up, my writer's block, the situation with my job and how I'd lose it if I didn't come up some steamy stories. I told I'm I had come here looking for inspiration, because I had heard about all the sexual activities that went on in the house.

He grinned mischievously. "When you say 'looking for inspiration', are you going to merely observe or are you thinking of participating?" He asked. I could see him staring at my breasts. He licked his lips slowly, and it stirred something inside me.

I pondered on that question, but before I could get any words out, he offered to escort me to my room. I walked with him, hand in hand, the wheels turning in my head. On one hand, it would be unnatural to have sex with ghosts, on the other, I needed the first hand experience to be able to write about it, not to mention, it had been 8 months since I got laid. I needed this.

We reached my bedroom. "I'll be participating," I said, with a smile.

I could see he was very happy with the decision. I gave him a quick peck on his cheek and entered my room. I could hear him whistling a tune as he walked away.

What should I do next?
