She changes her mind

As you head over to the shelf holding all the dvds, Lin hesitantly tries to get your attention.

"Umm, actually, sorry mister - I mean John, I don't think that's a good idea. I should really get going."

You curse under your breath. Of course, Lin seems far too skittish for such a bold plan to work. Her initial agreement had just been a gut reaction. Just when you thought you had missed your opportunity, she takes a deep breath, trying to bolster her courage.

"Also, John," Lin says in a small voice, "It's $60 for a dozen boxes. You only gave me $50."

"Oh, I'm terribly sorry," you reply, trying to keep your voice calm. Inside, you are cheering. The gods must be smiling down on you, giving you another chance! You need to take things super slow, and quickly formulate a plan that will hopefully not scare her off. "I don't have any more cash on me."

"That's okay, I'll just sell you 10 boxes and bring the other 2 home."

"No, no," you protest quickly. "I promised to buy 12, and I'm a man of my word. There's a bank just 3 blocks away. Let's go and I'll get the cash to pay you."

"Okay," Lin agrees. "It's a really close race, and the extra two sales might be enough to put us in the lead."

You make the most of the short walk to the bank, turning on the charm. You ask Lin about her family, hobbies, and dreams, occasionally throwing in a joke or two which makes her laugh. "You have a beautiful laugh," you compliment, making her blush slightly. Your hand "accidentally" brushes against hers a couple of times, and once against her leg. She looks up at you questioningly, but you keep a straight face as if nothing happened.
