Beth enjoyed the warm water, languidly swimming up and down the length of the pool. The dark and the water didn't give her much of a glimpse, but it was enough to keep her titillated. Kyle decided to race her from one end to the other, and act that left them both panting in the shallows. Kyle had won by a wide margin.
Beth traced a finger along the tattoos on Kyle's ribcage as the water lapped them. "Are these... were these your friends?"
Kyle's face turned a little somber. "Yeah. Squadmates. Their humvee got hit by a roadside bomb. I was supposed to be in it, but I was laid up with a twisted knee back at base."
"Jeez... I'm sorry, Kyle. I shouldn't have-"
"No, it's alright. I got the tattoos to remind me... not to waste it, you know?" He smiled.
"You're tougher than I am. I don't know how you guys do it."
"It's not easy." Beth rubbed his chest, and Kyle leaned back against the wall of the pool. He rose up slightly, lifting himself out of the water to his waist before realizing it and sliding back down. Beth bit her lip. Tantalizing.
"So...I have a question for you...." Kyle said, looking to the side.
"Sure."
"Why were you trying so hard to get me laid tonight?"
"..well...you know..." Beth faltered. She hadn't expected this. "Young guy... just back from deployment... I figured you could stand to...I mean you could use...." She didn't understand why she was so tongue-tied. She was drunk, for sure, but not that drunk.
"Just wanted to help me get it in, huh?" Kyle laughed.
"Exactly!"
"I guess, the reason I'm asking is... you seemed very eager to show me off to any girl in the bar, almost over-enthusiastically," he looked at her, now. His eyes were a little glassy, but they were intent on hers. "And yet, here we are... skinny dipping together in the middle of the night."

"Oh, yes he would... at least, the Brian I knew growing up was capable." Kyle looked grim, and a little predatory. "So... tell me. Why are you here, with me, right now?"
"...I....He's....I'm not being s-s-satisfied... he works all the time, trying to make p-partner..." she put her face in her hands. "I'm...I don't know I don't want the rest of my life to be like that... I guess..." she sighed, and started to wade backwards, away from him. "That's no excuse for... I shouldn't..."
Kyle's hands found hers under the water, stopping her. "I was hoping you'd say something like that..." he pulled her into his arms, and their lips met as their bodies entwined in the water.
