Chapter 8 by FrankShankly FrankShankly

What wakes you up?

A soldier, and the sound of shouting

You jolt awake as you hear someone calling your name. You also hear a great deal of shouting going on outside your tent. You reach for your sword, but can't find it. Panic begins to rise inside you, until you listen closer. It doesn't seem to be the sound of fighting. You look back at the entrance to your tent. You can see a figure standing outside.

"Come in," you call.

An elven soldier enters, and kneels, "My lord, we spotted a group of savages skulking around the outskirts of the camp. Filthy centaurs. They ran like cowards as soon as we approached them. The camp was roused to action, and I came to report this to you immediately."

"We must send a detachment after them," you say, getting dressed as quickly as possible, "At once, lest they slip out of our grasp. Perhaps we can learn something from them."

The cum from last nights failed lovemaking is still on your pelvis, and now it is inside your clothing. Nothing you can do about it now.

"Inform the generals, let them know to prepare their forces."

You walk briskly out of the tent, to where many of your troops are gathering. The soldiers quickly assemble, then form into parade formations.

You consult with your generals, "How many beasts were spotted?"

"About half a dozen," says one elf, "According to eye witnesses."

"Very well, a detachment of twenty soldiers should be enough to track them down and put them to the sword, don't you think?" you say, "Unless they have reinforcements waiting nearby."

"These savages don't have that kind of strategic thinking," says a general, "Besides, their foolish pride prevents them from that kind of coordination. One score should be more than enough."

"A group has already volunteered," says another general, "Mostly young noblemen from the capitol, they're eager to prove their honor and manhood on the battlefield."

"Well, I see no reason to deny them that opportunity. Send them after the beasts, tell them to rendezvous back with the main army when they're finished. Provide the with up to date marching orders, so they will be able to find us whenever their mission is complete"

"As you wish, my lord."

Will you continue to follow Ethelid's story?
