Chapter 3
by menoetes
What Type of sorcerer are you?
A lust sorcerer
You pull the grimore from its hiding place and open it on the desk, studying it’s markings with deep curiosity. It had taken years to decode only a few of its most basic spells but even that felt worth it. Your eyes lit up as the writings on its pages seemed to make sense to you and your mind wanders back to the time of its fortunate discovery…
…you just been accepted to the Magi University of the Unseen. You had been searching the libraries dustiest archives for something to help with your first Thaumaturgy exam when your shoulder had bumped against the old wooden paneling. It had collapsed to reveal a hidden cavity in the wall containing the grimore and curiosity had over-come, after that the rest was history. The runes within it had been old, the magic ancient, you had to transfer classes from Advanced Enchantment to Archaic Runes to learn to decipher the writings within it, but after three years, your understanding of ancient languages was advanced enough to begin to read the antiquated writings.
Your eyes moved rapidly over the lines of symbols and whilst your hands scribed their meanings in the fashion of a trained translator, you had finally reached the academic level to interpret the ancient spells for your own use.
You had discovered early that these spells affected the free will of others, and created what the grimore called ‘slaves of the flesh’. It was then you knew you was destined to be one of the forbidden; a sorcerer of the school of lust magic, one whom manipulated the wants, desires and wills of others. Not a magi, enchanter, summoner or illusionist, but a lust sorcerer – the forbidden art was his to command.
You study the spells you have made sense of in scribbled notes on the piles of parchment, there seemed several types of spells amongst those translated. Some were meant to affect the caster, the one in front of you was called ‘Scent of the Beast’, and other spells were created to be cast on individuals; with names like ‘mind collar’ and ‘soul of the succubae’. You had even begun deciphering a range of Lust sorceries that seemed to have the basic elements of thaumaturgy, summoning and enchantment amongst them, though it wasn’t uncommon for the fundamental principles of each school of magic appear in the more complex spells of the other schools – it just lead to more potent spell craft.
You gaze at the mess of parchment on the table and wet your lips with anticipation. Up until now you had played it safe and kept your study of the Dark Magic completely academic, but now it was time to put it to practice and test it’s power. The only question that remained was which spell to try first and on whom?
Which to try first?
