Chapter 7 by Vadasza Vadasza

What's next?

I saw the flyer

John: Hello, I saw the flyer aboutyou looking for help.

Barista: Yes, college season is crazy. We need as much help as we need.

The girl looks around, the place is a bit empty.

Barista: Well, this is a good time to have the first interview, take a seat.

What followed was my very first job interview ever, doing odd jobs back home was as easy as asking "Hey, you need help with anything?" and boom, 8 out of 10 times I got work to do.

Barista: You seem good to me, but you need to talk to the owner. He's in the back.

The back of the place was a mix of office/coffee bean storage, the owner must love the smell.

John: Hello, the barista asked me to talk to you about a job.

Jason: Yes, come, take a seat, I´m Jason, the barista is called Cass, my daughter. If she told you to come to me, it means you have the job... Yes, you seem confused, while I´m the owner she is the face of the business, she knows better than me what kind of person we need on the front. I just need you to fill out this form.

I'm glad to work at the front of the shop, as much as I like coffee, don't think I can't handle the smell as well as Jason does, just 10 minutes to fill out the form and I'm already dizzy.

Jason: You live at Sean's? You should have said so, we could have skipped the formalities, he knows people.

Jason went off talking about Sean for a bit, finally stopping when his glass of water ran out.

Jason: Ok, as mentioned by Cass is $10 an hour, part time.

I thanked him for the job and made my way to the front.
