Nothing.

"Uh...Terri, the barista?" She points over her shoulder, out the door. "Yeah, she's got get going. Her shift is about to start. I thought you'd want to say goodbye."

Letting out a long breath, you **** yourself to calm down. You nod and pat Katie's shoulder, thanking her for her thoughtfulness. Walking past the dining table, you make it a point to completely ignore whatever Selas is doing with Gus and go straight to the door. You give Terri a big hug and thank her for her concern and coffee, promising to pay for every cup she made for you. She tries to convince you otherwise, but your insistence wears her down.

Walking back to the table, you try to focus completely on Melissa and Katie, but somehow, Selas and Gus always seem to come into your sights. Melissa and Katie can sense your unease and ask for your help packing your leftovers up, just to lighten your workload. You nod sharply at them, pick up the plate of food and march into the kitchen.

The two women follow you quietly into the kitchen as you're scrubbing violently at one of the dishes. They exchanged worried looks with each other, before Melissa puts her hand on your arm. "Look," she says softly, "I know it's none of my business, but in all fairness, it's none of yours too. Your cousin's a grown woman and she's free to do what she likes. Now, she told us that her parents were...controlling to say the least, so she's just enjoying the first bit of independence she's ever had. It's going to be weird, having a woman as a roommate. Believe me, I'd know."

"So do I." Katie pipes in, nodding. "Many awkward breakfasts were had with the roomies' boyfriends...or one-nighters." You and Melissa raise an eyebrow at her, and she looks away, sheepishly. "What? They weren't mine!"

"We will have words, young lady." Melissa says stiffly, before turning back to you. "At any rate, give it time and things will work themselves out. Okay?"

You let out another long growl and nod. "Fine. Fine. I'll try."

Melissa nods, kisses you on the cheek and for some reason, squeezes your butt before helping Katie put away your leftovers. Then Katie comes over with the dirty dishes, shoos you away and also, squeezes your butt. Melissa leads you to the sitting room and the two of you chat, while waiting for Katie to get back.
