A small welcoming party.

It's an odd thing to knock on your own door. You hear a rustle of activity going on behind it before it finally opens. "You're back!" Katie says, rushing out the door and giving you a hug. She pushes you in through your door and you're met with two short bangs, the trumpeting of party horns and streamers raining down in front of your face.

You cough a strand of confetti off your nose and pout at Melissa, who is bouncing up and down under a massive "Glad you're not dead!" banner that's hanging from your ceiling. "A little much, don't you think?"

"Oh, don't you put her off." Katie says, punching you lightly in the arm. "We're just all really happy that you're fine, and besides..." She whispers conspiratorially in you ear "It gets her off my back for a bit, so just play along, will you? Please?"

Smiling broadly, you drop your bag and give Melissa a big hug, thanking her for her efforts. She smiles that bewitching smile of hers at you and buries her face in your chest. Looking around, you see Terri and Katie are bringing out an absolute mountain of food and that Gus has swooped in and is busy flirting wildly at Selas. It doesn't help that she's egging him on and making things a little awkward all around.

Lunch is absolutely divine, with excellent company...for the most part. The women are all smiles and laugh heartily. Terri even gives you your usual, doctor's orders be damned. But, you're also aware that under the table, Selas is busy rubbing your thigh, as well as Gus', while navigating a razor sharp edge between shameless flirting and innocent teasing. Clearing your throat, you excuse yourself and ask her to join you in the kitchen for a moment. Gus looks absolutely mortified when she gets up from the table and leaves.
