Evening quickly approached.

Lito made his way back to the inn, and then to the door. He drummed his knuckles along the old wood in hopes Alora was inside. She did have the key after all. Hardly a moment passed before it creaked open, and inside stood the young witch dressed in her normal black attire. The costume was placed nicely on the bed nearby, but she had entire changed back to her previous clothing while he was gone. Lito thought it was funny that despite the shorts he picked out for the costume being designed to be skimpy, her short skirt hardly did much different. If he was a little shorter, he'd get a glance, though it wasn't long ago that everyone got a glance, and not just of her underwear.

"What was that?!" Alora yelled, red in the face. "How could you do that to me?"

"Do what?" Lito asked, genuinely confused. She shouldn't know the truth.

"I don't know how, but you showed everyone my body!"

At the end, he did give her the command to realize she was nude, but quickly undid it with another. To her, she was only exposed momentarily.

"Ah I see your confusion," Lito explained. "That was one of my inventions, and no you were never naked. That would be ridiculous."

Half of what he said was true at least.

"What do you mean? I looked down, and my clothes were gone, you little rat!"

"Woah there. The invention uses mesmer magic. Surely you know what mesmers are."

"Yeah. They deal in illusions and other magic that alters the mind."

"That's right. It made you think you were. It's a prank item. It's pretty easy to trick the mind with magic, but making an entire outfit vanish entirely only to reappear again? That would be some insanely advanced technology that I would not be peddling on the street."

Alora started to calm down. "I guess that makes sense."

"Sorry for not telling you. I'd have told you if the plan was to actually make you naked, obviously."

"That's not going to happen either! I'll wear the costume, but that's all."

"Of course. Well, we've pretty much drained this place for now. I say we buy another waypoint with all this coin, and then rest at the inn there so we can pick up the next morning. How does that sound?"

Alora pondered. We did make a lot of coin today, and all I had to do was look pretty, and show off my amazing charisma. It's pretty fun. I might as well join him in at least one more town before heading back to the Reach. I don't know if I entirely trust him, but he seems pretty smart, and if he does try to avoid paying up, he'll regret it.

Lito shivered. Why did her stare just now scare me so much?

"All right. Let's check out one more place. After tomorrow, I'll head back, and both of us will be richer," Alora said.

"Sounds good to me!"

Truthfully, he didn't want to stick around due to the attention they would get if she was seen. They'd start asking her questions she wouldn't understand. If she somehow found out what was happening, he's certain he would be destroyed. Both physically, as well as his reputation as a merchant. The scheme was a huge gamble.
