It was time to test the device.

It was a bright and sunny summer day in the town of Claypool. It was noon, and people were walking up and down the surprisingly bustling roads. It was nothing like Divinity's Reach, but there were plenty of people, even some nobles, that walked those paths. So, Lito set up on the side of one of the streets with his trusty golem beside him. More importantly, his beautiful assistant was at his other side.

Already, some people were looking over. He wasn't certain yet what was grabbing their attention, but surely the men were at least distracted by such a cute girl in the outfit he prepared for her.

"Come, everybody! I have with me goods from afar. Outside of Queensdale are things you've never seen before! I even have goods from Rata Sum, and the inventions made there will blow your mind, and that's a promise!"

He glanced over to Alora. "Are you Listening, m'lady? We'll need to do a little bit better. Whenever we're doing this show and you don't know what else to do, try looking sexy. Stand with your hand on your hip and sport a seductive smile. Whatever works best for you. You probably know more about that than I do."

Without any argument, she started standing in a cute pose, and smile at any people that walked nearby.

"Of course I don't expect you just to believe my words!" he continued. "My lovely assistant and I will show you what I have before you buy! Look here. In my hand, I hold a disk of stone, but it isn't just that. No, no. It's something more."

Slowly, a few people started gathering. A small audience soon formed. His ears perked up at the sounds of interested murmuring--things such as, "I wonder what that is," as well as, "That girl is so pretty".

Despite the commands integrated into her mind, she was still herself completely. People being amazed by her looks lifted her spirits, and hearing people whisper about it was icing on the cake. She smiled wide and continued to pose, though it was uncertain whether or not she would have done that without the device. She did like attention.

Lito activated something on the disk and it started to faintly glow and hum. He held it up towards his assistant, and continued his pitch. "When it's sweltering in the middle of the season and you need your drink, food, or maybe even your own rear to stay cool, look no further!"

There was some chuckling in the crowd.

"Please, m'lady. Touch your hand to this disk."

Alora placed a couple fingers down on the top, but quickly retreated them back. "It's freezing!"

"That's right it is! This stays Cold for hours every day!"

She glanced around, but saw no loose clothing to pick up and wear. Lito noticed this and cleared his throat, as it was entirely an accident to say one of her commands. He realized then that he had to be more careful.

"How many of you find yourselves begging for a frigid escape from this weather sometimes?" he asked.

Plenty of people in the crowd either nodded or raised their hand.

"Even we're dying up here! Isn't that right, assistant? Aren't you Hot as well?"

She nodded, and began undoing the buttons of her top. As people started to notice, their attention was completely stolen. Her coat was pulled open, revealing the skimpy shirt beneath. After she slid her arms free, she simply tossed the coat to the side, and continued posing cute as if she had no idea she was even wearing something different.

The men especially started in awe. She was garbed in nothing but a pair of knee-high boots, tiny shorts, and a low-cut top. There was even cheering from the crowd.

Everything is working perfectly, Lito thought to himself.

"Phew. She has the right idea. You'll cook out in this weather if you don't keep cool. Why don't you leave the undressing to my assistant here so you don't have to, and pick up one of these Frostward Plates? I only have three left in stock, so you need to act fast! They're a hundred gold a pop. You can't put a price on such a luxury, you'd think, but I don't have enough to give them away for free! Better hurry up. It's getting Hotter by the minute today."

Hearing this, Alora slid her legs out of both of her boots to stand bare-foot and bare-legged in front of the crowd. A couple of the men in the back started whistling.

The Frostward Plates practically flew out of his hands. He had to handle so many coins that his golem assisted in counting and storing them within itself. Lito's eyes were practically gold coins themselves, and that was only the start. His idea was working brilliantly. It seems like a lot of the wealthier-looking folk were departing after his expensive previous product. It was time for something smaller, to wind things back down to the common man.

"Is the lady for sale?" somebody called out from the audience.

Lito laughed. "No, but it's funny you ask that, sir! Now, this product is for both the ladies and the gentlemen. Have you ever been interested in somebody, but they just won't notice you? Well, don't worry. It isn't just crazy technology I'm selling today. I understand that something like that isn't for everybody, so I have this as well! It's a perfume, made all the way in Elona. I guarantee that with this, you'll smell so amazing that your love will fall for you."

He sprayed a tiny bit on his neck. "I use my own. How else do you think I have such a lovely assistant?"

"Yeah right! No perfume works that well," called somebody from the crowd. "She's probably just doing this cuz she's bored or something! She's way too good for you."

"Harsh words!" This is going to require some expert techniques. "But I completely understand your concerns. No, this perfume doesn't control someone's mind, but they say that in Elona, they have flowers and other ingredients that are so outstanding, the scent is like you died and fell into the realm of the Gods! I'll do my best to show you an example, good sir. Would you like to come up and greet my lovely assistant directly?"
