So sick of these students...

Carla pulled one of the pillows off of the large bed and fluffed it behind her head before continuing. She leaned back, her now bare feet gently stroking across the light brown fabric of the sheets.

"So... I get to rant, fully rant huh? This isn't going to be pretty, and I'm going to bitch about you, so fair warning."

"Do I get to interrupt?" I asked, kicking off my shoes. I couldn't help but notice that Carla hadn't moved from the bed, merely bunching up a pillow behind her head to look at me evenly.

"Yes," Carla smiled patiently. "but... ah hell with it, no buts, you get to interrupt whenever you want. So, first off, if you leave your bristles in the sink one more fucking time I'm going to short sheet your bed. Or, a note or something. But seriously Brent, every time you shave in there, you forget to clean the sink."

I boggled at the comment, a bit surprised that this had come up. Okay, I thought over my habit of morning shaving and... yeah, ok, I could see her point. I hadn't thought about the fact the sink was clean every morning and I hadn't done it.

"Is it you or Kaila who does that?" I asked.

"Both of us, but she won't tell you," Carla sighed, glancing at the door. "I wish you both would just act like adults sometimes. You both are so worried about losing each other that you act like jealous teenagers. I see enough of that at college. People who still think they're in High School, and so many guys have the Hot Professor Milf fetish... oh, when did I become a Milf? I thought you had to be over forty for that?"

"I don't know, I think it has something to do with body type..." I shrugged.

"I think I'm officially old now. I'm complaining about the language of my students. Ugh. And don't get me started on the pronouns." Carla groaned. "I just... you know the Dean actually called me in and lectured me about not being socially conscious enough on my social media? She told me that I needed less musical stuff and more Retweets promoting the college's image as a progressive institution."

"I see why Kaila calls her Major Hochstetter," I quipped, and was delighted when Carla laughed out loud.

"No, I call her Major Hochstetter..." Carla laughed. "Kaila HATES Hogan's Heroes. "

"Wait, she does? So, I watched that with you?" I asked, remembering that couple of weeks on the couch. There had been no sex involved, just a little snuggling, laughing at historical inaccuracy, but overall just a cute moment.

"Twin Games. And I'm sorry, Brent. No excuses, I knew it was a bad idea. But it was really sweet, and I hadn't watched it in years. And it was fun. " Carla sat up. "I always wished that I'd... well, just one night."

"One night what?" I asked. I was pretty sure where she was going with this. "That you'd been the one I was with afterwords?"

"Yeah," Carla nodded. "I did. And the twin games were fun for me because I like the way you treat Kaila. So, yeah, you don't really know me, because most of those moments that you were sweet with me, I gave to her."

"I don't know what to say..." I said quietly. I realized that Carla did indeed know me a heck of a lot better than I knew her.

"Good... So, let's talk Harem politics." Carla sighed.

"Ok, totally lost me with that subject change. So, what part were you trying to avoid?" I smiled.

"Brent, If I was trying to change the subject I'd hit you with a bad pickup line," Carla groaned at my expectant expression. "Fine... Hey baby, I put the Dee in millionaire."

"Uh... there's no Dee in millionaire," I nodded along.

"Yeah, but you're gonna be a millionaire someday, and I put the Dee in you," Carla intoned the words with rolled eyes.

"Right, Harem Politics," I nodded, and sat up. "Should I be taking notes, professor?"
